    Abstract
Multi wall carbon nanotube (MWCNT) doped ZnO nanofibers were fabricated by electrospinning for the first time. We have successfully demonstrated the photocatalytic activity of doped nanofibers under visible light. Scanning electron microscopy showed that the diameter of MWCNT-doped ZnO nanofibers varied from 120 to 300 nm without agglomeration of MWCNT. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction studies proved the formation of ZnO bond and wurtzite structure with smaller crystal size in doped nanofibers. Raman spectra demonstrated slight shift in bond position after nanofiber doping, indicating the chemical bond between MWCNT and ZnO. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy...

    , Article Journal of Physics Condensed Matter ; Volume 20, Issue 34 , 2008 ; 09538984 (ISSN) Mofakham, S ; Mazaheri, M ; Akhavan, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2008
    Abstract
Partial substitutions of Pr and Ce are known to suppress the superconducting state in REBa2Cu3O7-δ systems. We have substituted Ce for Gd in Gd1-xCexBa 2Cu3O7-δ compounds with x = 0.0-0.6 by the standard solid-state reaction technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments are performed and their results are refined by the Rietveld method. XRD analysis shows a predominantly single-phase perovskite structure with few impurity phases. Our resistivity results show that, by increasing the Ce content, Tc decreases, the transition temperature width increases, and in the normal state a metal-insulator transition (MIT) occurs at x c = 0.12. The normal state resistivity of the samples and their slopes...

    Abstract
Based on transport and magnetic measurements on Gd(Ba2-xPrx)Cu3O7+δ, and some other properties of high temperature superconductors (HTSC), we have extracted similarities between superconductors, two-dimensional electron gas (2D-EG) i.e. MOSFETs and ultrathin films of conventional superconductors. These are based on properties such as superconductor-insulator transition in superconductors and metal-insulator transition (MIT) in 2D-EG with doping and magnetic field, localization in transport conduction, quantum unit of resistance at MIT, larger change in resistance from critical doping to the insulating side in comparison with change from critical doping to the metallic side and strong...

    , Article Journal of Manufacturing Processes ; Volume 30 , 2017 , Pages 106-115 ; 15266125 (ISSN) Azqadan, E ; Ekrami, A ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
Transient liquid phase (TLP) bonding is a joining process which combines benefits of diffusion bonding and brazing. Therefore, this method has widely been used in joining of materials which are sensitive to fusion welding. Interlayer composition, as one of the most important factors of TLP bonding, can affect the bonding region composition, microstructure, and hence mechanical properties of the joint. In this research, Fe-based, Ni-based, and commercially pure Cu interlayers are used to bond low-carbon steel components which are then heat treated to produce dual phase steel. The present work focuses on two main goals. Firstly, drawing a comparison of microstructure and mechanical properties...
