    Bond strength and mechanical properties of three-layered St/AZ31/St composite fabricated by roll bonding

    The aim of this research is bonding of three-layered St/AZ31/St composite by roll-bonding process. The roll-bonding process was performed at three preheating temperatures, 340, 400 and 450°C, with thickness reduction of 30 to 68% and different thicknesses of intermediate layer (AZ31). In order to improve the bonding strength, the as-rolled specimens were annealed at constant temperature of 375°C.     A hot gas generator is a compact heat exchanger that produces high temperature or enthalpy gases. This paper presents two methods for controlling the system.     We use the Fokker-Planck equation and its moment equations to study the collective behavior of interacting particles in unsteady one-dimensional flows. Particles interact according to a longrange attractive and a short-range repulsive potential field known as Morse potential. We assume Stokesian drag force between particles and their carrier fluid and find analytic single-peaked traveling solutions for the spatial density of particles in the catastrophic phase.     Thermo mechanical processing and controlled rolling of microalloyed steel sheets are affected by several factors. In this investigation, finishing temperature of rolling which is considered as the most effective parameters on the final mechanical properties of hot rolled products has been studied. For this purpose, three different finishing temperatures of 950, 900 and 850 °C below the non-recrystallization temperature and one temperature of 800 °C in the intercritical range were chosen.     This paper investigates a predictive control strategy for a single-phase PFC rectifier exploiting the Sheppard-Taylor converter. By using this converter, the detuning problem occurring in conventional PFC rectifiers, especially at low input voltages, is avoided. This paper addresses a predictive method for designing the current controller of the Sheppard-Taylor PFC converter. The control law is derived for an ideal circuit as well as a more accurate model of the converter including parasitic elements.     The load current of three level/phase neutral point clamped rectifier could be expressed in two forms: the load current involving the current of capacitor C1, and the load current involving the current of capacitor C2.     We report the existence of interfacial instability in the two-dimensional channel flow of a sediment suspension whose particles diffuse in the carrier fluid due to shear-induced collisions. We derive partial differential equations that govern the deformations of the interface between the sediment suspension and the clear fluid, and devise a perturbation method that preserves the positivity of the particle volume fraction. We solve perturbed momentum, particle transport and deforming interface equations to show that a Kelvin-Helmholtz-type unstable wave develops at the interface for wavelengths longer than a critical value.     This paper attempts to study the demand function of natural gas in Iran using smooth transition regression model (STR). To this end, gross domestic productions (GDP), real price of natural gas and temperature have been employed as variables explaining the natural gas demand from 1971 to 2009. The results indicate that natural gas demand follows an LSTR1 nonlinear two-regime model if the real price of natural gas is considered as the transition variable.     The effect of pulsed direct current (PDC) on solid-state diffusion in the Ni–Al binary system was investigated. Two experimental schemes were employed: in the presence and absence of an electric field. The diffusion couples were heat-treated for 1.5, 3, and 5 h at 803, 833, and 863 K. Under the investigated conditions, only two intermetallic phases (NiAl3 and Ni2Al3) formed at the boundary of the metals.     The nanocomposite Cu–Cr powder was consolidated by flash spark plasma sintering (FSPS), which involves applying an extremely rapid change in the electrical power passing through the bulk of the sample.     Abstract
    Resistance spot welding was used to join austenitic stainless steel and galvanized low carbon steel. The relationship between failure mode and weld fusion zone characteristics (size and microstructure) was studied. It was found that spot weld strength in the pullout failure mode is controlled by the strength and fusion zone size of the galvanized steel side. The hardness of the fusion zone which is governed by the dilution between two base metals, and fusion zone size of galvanized carbon steel side are dominant factors in determining the failure mode. © 2007 Elsevier B.V.     In this paper the question of the emission of fermions in the process of dilaton black hole evolution and its characteristics for different dilaton coupling constants α are studied. The main quantity of interest, the greybody factors, are calculated both numerically and in analytical approximation. The dependence of the rates of evaporation and behaviour on the dilaton coupling constant is analysed. Having calculated the greybody factors, we are able to address the question of the final fate of the dilaton black hole.
