Pulsating heat pipes have better performance compared with normal heat pipes and can be used for cooling electronic instruments in near future. Also, one specific kind of heat pipes, which is called rotating pulsating heat pipe, can be used in cooling the turbine blades. Ferrofluids are used in various fields such as drug delivery systems, heat transfer, biotechnology and separation processes. In this study, the splitting of ferrofluid microdroplets in symmetric and asymmetric T-junctions in the presence of a magnetic field has been investigated numerically and experimentally. These studies have shown that the creation of an asymmetric magnetic field can either affect the phenomenon of ferrofluid microdroplet breakup or the volume of microdroplets that are created after breaking and leaving each branch. In the present study, the acrylated polyurethane/nanohydroxyapatite (APU/n-HAp) nanocomposites were fabricated for use in bone tissue regeneration. The APU was synthesized based on poly(ε-caprolactone) diol (PCL), aliphatic 1,6- hexamethylene diisocyanate (HDI) and hydroxyethyl methyl acrylate (HEMA). In the present study, a high-order finite-difference lattice Boltzmann solver is applied for simulating steady and unsteady three-dimensional incompressible flows. Abstract
The hot workability of a wrought 49.8 Ni-50.2 Ti (at pct) alloy was assessed using the hot compression tests in temperature range of 700-1000°C, strain rate of 0.001-1s-1, and the total strain of 0.7. The constitutive equations of Arrhenius-type hyperbolic-sine function was used to describe the flow stress as a function of strain rate and temperature. The preferable regions for hot workability of the alloy were achieved at Z (Zener-Holloman parameter) values of about 109-1013 corresponding to the peak efficiency of 20-30% in the processing map. Abstract
The influence of Cu addition on the hot deformation behavior of NiTi shape memory alloys was investigated using hot compression test. A series of alloys with different Cu contents of Ti50.4Ni49.6-xCux (x = 0, 3, 5, 7 at.%) were deformed under compression to a true strain of 0.7 at the temperature range of 700-1000 °C with 100 °C intervals and constant strain rate of 0.1 s-1. The stress-strain curves showed that the addition of Cu to NiTi alloy made the flow curves shift upward. The effect of high-energy ball milling on the textural evolution of alumina nanopowders (compaction response, sinter-ability, grain growth and the degree of agglomeration) during post sintering process is studied. The applied pressure required for the breakage of the agglomerates (P y) during milling was estimated and the key elements of compressibility (i.e. critical pressure (P cr) and compressibility (b)) were calculated. Abstract
The correlation between religious adherence and voter turnout is widely studied. However, whether the relation is causal is an open question. We use Household Expenditures and Income Survey (HEIS) data in Iran, which encompasses nine distinct religious expenditures. These expenditures have low correlation with each other and represent different aspects of religious adherence. We use Imamzadeh (some historical holy shrines) as Instruments to estimate the causal effect of religious expenditures on voter turnout. The results reveal that religious expenditures influence both presidential and parliamentary voter turnout, with a notably stronger impact on presidential elections
