    Abstract
    Using a five-dimensional anti-de Sitter (AdS) soliton in an Einstein-Yang-Mills theory with SU(2) gauge group, we study p-wave holographic insulator/superconductor phase transition. To explore the phase structure of the model, we consider the system in the probe limit as well as fully back-reacted solutions. We will also study the zero temperature limit of the p-wave holographic superconductor in four dimensions

    A mechano-chemical atomic force microscope (AFM) nanolithography on a metallic thin film (50 nm in thickness) covered by a spin-coated soft polymeric mask layer (50-60 nm in thickness) has been introduced. The surface stochastic properties of initial grooves mechanically patterned on the mask layer (grooves before chemical wet-etching) and the lithographed patterns on the metallic thin film (the grooves after chemical wet-etching) have been investigated and compared by using the structure factor, power spectral density, and AFM tip deconvolution analyses.     Abstract
    To obtain metallic nanofingers applicable in surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors, a mechano-chemical atomic force microscope (AFM) nanolithography on a metallic thin film (50 nm in thickness)/piezoelectric substrate covered by a spin-coated polymeric mask layer (50-60 nm in thickness) was implemented. The effective shape of cross-section of the before and after etching grooves have been determined by using the AFM tip deconvolution surface analysis, structure factor, and power spectral density analyses.     Abstract
    In a recent paper, Brida et al (2002 J. Phys. B: At. Mol. Opt. Phys. 35 4751) reported the first experimental realization for testing of de Broglie-Bohm (dBB) theory against standard quantum mechanics (SQM), based on a suggested scheme presented in Golshani and Akhavan (2001 J. Phys. A: Math. Gen. 34 5259). However, some details of their experiment are not compatible with our suggestion. Therefore, their conclusion, in which the experimental data are in complete agreement with SQM but show some deviations from dBB predictions, cannot be considered as a final verdict

    Abstract
    The effect of pressure has been studied on structural and electronic properties of LaOFeAs high-T c superconductor by ab initio density functional theory by using pseudopotential Quantum Espresso code. The lattice parameters and ionic positions in the ambient pressure and some high pressure up to 20 GPa have been calculated. The obtained data versus the simple scaling relation for the ionic positions and distances for mechanical pressures have been discussed. The results of band structure and magnetic moment calculations of this compound versus the applied pressure are presented in this paper. The results are compared with the other experimental and computational data in the literature

    Abstract
    The details of the crystal structure of the recently discovered Y 3Ba5Cu8O18+δ (Y358) superconductor have been determined by ab initio density functional theory. Total energy calculation has been performed for three different suggested structures with different oxygen content. The structure with a center of inversion symmetry and the highest oxygen concentration has the lowest total energy. Thus, it is the best choice for the Y358 crystal structure. By investigating the detailed structure, it is seen that this compound is arranged either of YBa2Cu3O7 and YBaCu2O 5 or YBaCu2O5 and BaCuO2 substructural blocks in the c direction.     A remote controllable working graphite nanostructured swimmer based on a graphene jet nanomotor has been demonstrated for the first time. Graphite particles with pyramidal-like morphologies were fabricated by the creation of suitable defects in wide high-purity graphite flakes followed by a severe sonication. The particles were able to be self-exfoliated in water after Na intercalation between the graphene constituents.     Abstract
    The electronic structures of PrBa2Cu3O7 (Pr123), Pr2Ba4Cu7O15-y (Pr247), and PrBa2Cu4O8 (Pr124) cuprates have been obtained using density-functional theory in the local spin density approximation plus onsite Coulomb interaction (LSDA + U). Onsite Hubbard correlation, U, has been considered for Pr-f and Cu-d orbitals and the effects of considering these correlation corrections on the Pr-O hybridizations have been inspected. Results imply that the Pr ionization state in Pr123 system is constituted from two different configurations, and the energy of the f states in these two configurations has an important role in superconductivity properties of the system.     Abstract
    Partial substitutions of Pr and Ce are known to suppress the superconducting state in REBa2Cu3O7-δ systems. We have substituted Ce for Gd in Gd1-xCexBa 2Cu3O7-δ compounds with x = 0.0-0.6 by the standard solid-state reaction technique. X-ray diffraction (XRD) experiments are performed and their results are refined by the Rietveld method. XRD analysis shows a predominantly single-phase perovskite structure with few impurity phases. Our resistivity results show that, by increasing the Ce content, Tc decreases, the transition temperature width increases, and in the normal state a metal-insulator transition (MIT) occurs at x c = 0.12.     In order to improve the performance of a newly developed radiochromic film, GIC-79, some dosimetric characteristics of this film have been studied based on relevant standard practice. The present study describes some parameters that may affect the dosimeter response before, during, and after irradiation. The effect of absorbed dose rate on dosimeter response was determined by irradiating dosimeters at low absorbed dose rates with gamma rays.     Abstract
    We have investigated the Hall measurement of Gd(Ba2-xNdx)Cu3O7+δ with x=0, 0.05, 0.1, 0.15, and 0.2 in a magnetic field of 0-1 T. The nominal samples has been prepared by the conventional solid-state reaction technique. The iodometric titration experiment was carried out for samples. The Rietveld analysis of the X-ray diffraction patterns indicates that samples are mainly single phase. The normal state Hall coefficient behaves as 1/T in all samples. All samples with nominal compositions show single sign reversal with variation of magnetic field and temperature.     Abstract
    On polycrystalline Gd1-xPrxBa2Cu3O7-δ, samples with x = 0.00, 0.05, 0.10, and 0.15, SEM, XRD, and electrical transport experiments have been carried out. Although the samples are homogenous, granular, and show a superconducting transition, the Tc decreases and the transition temperature width increases with increasing doping concentration x. Using Rietveld analysis of the XRD patterns, we have examined the real substitution positions of Gd, Pr, and Ba atoms in these samples. Our results show that the mentioned atoms occupy their own sites, and there is no Gd or Pr at the Ba site and vice versa (i.e., no mis-substitution).     TiO2 nanoparticles were physically attached to chemically synthesized single-layer graphene oxide nanosheets deposited between Au electrodes in order to investigate the electrical, chemical, and structural properties of the TiO2/graphene oxide composition exposed to UV irradiation.     Abstract
    YBaCu2O5 compound as one of the possible microstructures of Y3Ba5Cu8O19 has been synthesized. The X-ray diffraction analysis of this compound indicates that its formation is accompanied with the formation of YBa2Cu3O7-δ. The observed superconductivity around ∼92 K supports this. So, it seems that YBa2Cu3O7-δ is responsible for the observed superconductivity in YBaCu2O5, and this phase is not an independent superconducting phase. Consequently, the overall effect of the YBaCu2O5 formation during the Y3Ba5Cu8O19 fabrication process could be a reduction in Tc. © 2018 Elsevier B.V

    Abstract
    In FeCo fine particles, induced anisotropy has a considerable contribution in increasing the coercivity. We have prepared Fe0.7Co0.3 fine particles by the borohydride method in the presence of various magnetic fields in the range 0 ≤ H0 ≤ 2 kOe. We have studied and analysed the factors affecting the induced anisotropy and magnetic structure of these particles by the use of SEM, XRD and vibrating sample magnetometer. It was found that heat treatment, and also the presence of a magnetic field of about 1 kOe during the grain growth, result in the maximum coercivity of Fe 0.7Co0.3 fine particles.     Abstract
    We have studied the electrical and magnetic properties of RuGd 2-xCexSr2Cu2O10-δ (Ru-1222) with content of Ce = 0.0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, prepared by the standard solid-state reaction technique. To determine how the magnetic and superconducting properties of this layered cuprate system can be affected by Ce substitution, the resistivity and magnetoresistivity have been measured at various temperatures. Resistivity curves reveal the presence of four regions for various contents of x. In high temperatures, system is paramagnetic. Magnetic transition from paramagnetic state to antiferromagnetic state occurs at 140 K for x = 0, which varies very slowly with increasing Ce substitution for Gd....
