Robust Similarity Measure for Acoustical Leak Detection in the Presence of Different Noise

Abstract
Precise leak detection by acoustic signal analysis calls for robust similarity measures to estimate the time delay between recorded leakage signals and minimize the probability of false alarms, in the face of dispersive propagation, multiple reflections, and unknown correlated, uncorrelated and impulsive background noise. Providing evidence that higher order modes and multi-reflected signals behave like sets of correlated noise, this thesis uses a regression model to optimize residual complexity in the presence of both correlated and uncorrelated noise. In this project, polarization properties, intensity of reflected light, by one layer tissue that has specified optical properties has been investigated by means of Monte Carlo simulation. Fresnel's coefficients were considered in this simulation too. The incident beam was assumed very thin with specified wave length and linear polarization parallel to plane of incidence.This beam was radiated from origin to the tissue vertically. The tissue characteristics are important for all kinds of medical laser applications in order to understand the interaction mechanisms between light and tissue. Knowledge about light transport in tissue is essential for cancer treatment and cancer diagnostic techniques. By having the diffused reflectance of a tissue we can determine its optical characteristics. In this thesis we have solved the inverse process. Abstract
Extraction of fetal electrocardiogram (FECG) from the abdominal region of the mother’s skin is challenge task due to the high overlapping of maternal and fetal signals in this area. To overcome the problem, this paper proposes the utilization of extreme learning model (ELM) as the prediction algorithm to train on the FECG signal extracted by least mean square approach from the input abdominal and thoracic signals. Abstract
The effect of intensity variation on the quantum densities of active medium and thermodynamic characteristics of a high turbulent flow CO2 laser has been investigated. Comparison between the calculation of constant and variant intensity on the quantum densities and thermodynamic characteristics of turbulent gas flow shows a ∼ 10% drop in the output power of the laser, which is only 50 cm long. © Sharif University of Technology, October 2003

A type II (eoe: extraordinary-ordinary-extraordinary) phase matching condition in a 2nd Harmonic Generation of Nd-YAG laser under a high electric field in a uniaxial KDP crystal has been measured. Type II phase matching takes place when the two mixing waves are of orthogonal polarizations (extraordinary-ordinary) and the 2nd harmonic radiation corresponds to an extraordinary wave. We have observed that a rotating liquid soap film generates electricity when placed between two non-contact electrodes with a sufficiently large potential difference. In our experiments, suspended liquid film (water + soap film) is formed on the surface of a circular frame, which is forced to rotate in the x−y horizontal plane by a motor.
