    Tunable circular conversion dichroism and asymmetric transmission of terahertz graphene metasurface composed of split rings

    Abstract
    The asymmetric transmission (AT) has attracted wide attention due to its novel applications. In this paper, we propose and investigate a tunable polarization-dependent intrinsically chiral graphene metasurface composed of split ring arrays in terahertz (THz) region. The resonance frequency of the structure is sensitive to the graphene chemical potential. Circular conversion dichroism (CCD) of the proposed structure is tunable and is reached to 0.36. Our work paths a new approach to propose some other compact and on-chip polarization-dependent structures in THz region. Furthermore, our proposed structure could be a useful segment in polarization-dependent systems. © 2019 Elsevier B.V

    Supersonic aeroelastic instability of a three-layered sandwich beam of rectangular cross section with an adaptive magneto-rheological fluid (MRF) core layer is investigated. The panel is excited by an airflow along it's longitudinal direction. The problem formulation is based on classical beam theory for the face layers, magnetic field dependent complex modulus approach for viscoelastic material model and the linear first-order piston theory for aerodynamic pressure.     Simple formulas for calculating equivalent von Mises stress and von Mises effective plastic strain in an elastic–plastic ordinary peridynamic analysis are proposed. The equivalent von Mises stress is calculated by equating the deviatoric part of strain energy obtained from classical continuum mechanics and peridynamics.     Different compositions of TiO2–BaTiO3 nanocomposites are synthesized with various weight ratios for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) applications. TiO2 and BaTiO3 nanoparticles (NPs) are synthesized by sol-gel and solvothermal methods, respectively and are employed as the photoanode electrodes.     The characteristics of postural sway were assessed in quiet standing under three different postural task conditions in 14 patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain and 12 healthy subjects using linear and nonlinear center of pressure parameters.     Different structures of dye-sensitized solar cells (DSCs) were fabricated with various compositions and arrangement modes of the photoanodes. The solvothermally grown TiO2 nanoparticles and sol-gel derived spherical TiO2 and BaTiO3 particles were employed as the active and scattering layers of DSCs.
