Plastic temperature-dependent constitutive modeling of pure aluminum diaphragms at large strains by using bulge test

Abstract
A plastic temperature-dependent constitutive model is developed for 0.05 mm thickness pure aluminum diaphragms at large strains by using bulge test method. Rupture strain of the material is recorded below two percent according to tensile tests. In order to achieve the material behavior at larger strains, an own bulge test apparatus is used to extract equi-biaxial stress-strain curves at different temperatures, i.e. from room to 150 °C. Effective stress-strain behavior is then computed via a transformation scheme using the plastic work definition as well as the room temperature uniaxial stress-strain curve. Abstract
Phenomenological constitutive modeling of Ti-6Al-4V at temperatures between 923 and 1023 K under 0.0005–0.05 s−1 quasi-static rates is studied based on a phenomenological approach. For this purpose, the Johnson–Cook constitutive model is revisited. At low temperature conditions under moderate to high strain rates, the material’s stress–strain curves are the most similar to power-law function. Contrary to this, at high temperature conditions under low to moderate strain rates, the saturation-type function well describes the stress–strain curves. Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to use experimental and numerical tools to develop new constitutive models based on the Johnson Cook's model to predict the plastic deformation and failure of metallic diaphragms. Initially as the first case study, by designing and constructing a bulge test mechanism, the elastic-plastic behavior of 0.05 mm thickness pure aluminum diaphragms for a temperature range of 25-150℃ and large strains was extracted. In this thesis, both experimental and numerical approaches are conducted to present a constitutive equation for 5052 aluminum diaphragms under quasi-static strain rate loadings. For this purpose the stress-strain curves at different strain rates are obtained using tensile tests. Brittle behavior during tensile tests is observed due to samples thin thicknesses. Employing Johnson-Cook constitutive equation no yields in reasonable agreement with these tensile tests results. This paper presents an evaluation of two distinct techniques to improve energy absorption capability of an accordion cellular structure with close-to-zero Poisson's ratio. Protein aggregation, such as amyloid fibril formation, is molecular hallmark of many neurodegenerative disorders including Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, and Prion disease. In this paper we introduce some general necessary conditions for the existence of graph homomorphisms, which hold in both directed and undirected cases. Our method is a combination of Diaconis and Saloff–Coste comparison technique for Markov chains and a generalization of Haemers interlacing theorem. As some applications, we obtain a necessary condition for the spanning subgraph problem, which also provides a generalization of a theorem of Mohar (1992) as a necessary condition for Hamiltonicity. In this paper we introduce a chromatic parameter, called the fixing chromatic number, which is related to unique colourability of graphs, in the sense that it measures how one can embed the given graph G in G∪Kt by adding edges between G and Kt to make the whole graph uniquely t-colourable. We study some basic properties of this parameter as well as its relationships to some other well-known chromatic numbers as the acyclic chromatic number. In this paper, we apply some new algebraic no-homomorphism theorems in conjunction with some new chromatic parameters to estimate the circular chromatic number of graphs. To show the applicability of the general results, as a couple of examples, we generalize a well known inequality for the fractional chromatic number of graphs and we also show that the circular chromatic number of the graph obtained from the Petersen graph by excluding one vertex is equal to 3.
