    Abstract
Silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) are promising agents in bionanotechnology, because of their unique activity against unfavorable processes in bioscience such as undesirable microbial growth, angiogenesis in tumors and etc. Ag-NPs have been widely used in wound dressing; wound healing, water treatment filters, inks, sensors, catalysts, cosmetics, orthopaedics, surgical instruments and vascular prosthesis. Automatic Web Services Composition Using HSIP

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Aram, Siamak (Author) ; Soleyman Fallah, Mehran (Supervisor)
    Abstract
We propose Hierarchical Web Services Composer (HWSC) as a technique for fully automatic Web services composition. It takes functional and nonfunctional requirements of a Web service and returns possible compositions that realize those requirements. In doing so, HWSC deploys the Hierarchical Services of Interacting Processes (HSIP), a formalism of concurrent systems, and integrates its capabilities with the existing methods and protocols for service oriented computing. The proposed framework technique is then analyzed and validated through a number of real-life examples

Novel carbon-nanotube-based organogels as candidates for oil recovery

    , Article Polymer International ; Volume 62, Issue 2 , JUN , 2013 , Pages 179-183 ; 09598103 (ISSN) Pourjavadi, A ; Doulabi, M ; Soleyman, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2013
    Abstract
A simple method for synthesis of novel organogels based on multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) is reported. Three classes of organogels were synthesized by crosslinking polymerization of dodecyl methacrylate with various weight percentages of 1,4-butanediol dimethacrylate, vinyl-group-modified MWCNTs or pristine MWCNTs in the presence of 2,2-azoisobutyronitrile as initiator. In this reaction, the carbon nanotubes (CNTs) served simultaneously as an adsorbent, a comonomer and a crosslinking agent. The oil-absorbent containing CNTs showed much higher swelling capacity in oil and organic solvents compared with that without CNTs. Therefore, CNT-based organogels can be introduced as a promising...

    Abstract
A novel superabsorbent composite based on sodium alginate and the inorganic clay kaolin was synthesized via the graft copolymerization of acrylic acid (AA) in an aqueous medium with methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinking agent and ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator. The effects of reaction variables, such as the MBA, AA, and APS concentrations and the alginate/kaolin weight ratio, on the water absorbency of the composite were systematically optimized. Evidence of grafting and kaolin interactions was obtained by a comparison of the Fourier transform infrared spectra of the initial substrates with that of the superabsorbent composite, and the hydrogel structure was confirmed...

    , Article Journal of Molecular Catalysis A: Chemical ; Volume 365 , 2012 , Pages 55-59 ; 13811169 (ISSN) Pourjavadi, A ; Hosseini, S. H ; Soleyman, R ; Sharif University of Technology
    2012
    Abstract
A dual acidic heterogeneous organocatalyst was synthesized by copolymerization of acidic ionic liquid monomer (vinyl-3-(3-sulfopropyl) imidazolium hydrogen sulfate [VSim][HSO 4]) and ionic liquid crosslinker (1,4-butanediyl-3,3′-bis-l-vinyl imidazolium dihydrogen sulfate). The resulting ionic heterogeneous catalyst is shown to be an efficient dual acidic organocatalyst for synthesis of dihydropyrimidines using the Biginelli synthetic route under mild reaction conditions in high yields. Since monomers make the catalyst bed, crosslinked poly(ionic liquid) will have high loading level of acidic groups comparing to other heterogeneous acid catalysts. Despite of conventional heterogeneous ionic...

    Abstract
In the current study, γ-Fe2O3/SiO 2/PCA/Ag-NPs hybrid nanomaterials were successfully synthesized and characterized. At first, prepared γ-Fe2O3 core nanoparticles were modified by SiO2 layer. Then they were covered by poly citric acid (PCA) via melting esterification method as well. PCA shell acts as an effective linker, and provides vacancies for conveying drugs. Moreover, this shell as an effective capping agent directs synthesis of silver nanoparticles (Ag-NPs) via in situ photo-reduction of silver ions by sunlight-UV irradiation. This system has several benefits as a suitable cancer therapy nanomaterial. Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) can guide Ag-NPs and drugs to cancer cells and then...

    Abstract
A series of water-soluble ABA triblock copolymers consisting of a polyethylene glycol central block joined to two blocks of six different homopolymers have been synthesized via simple solvent-free and ecofriendly routes and characterized by FTIR and 1HNMR spectroscopy. Dispersing and slump-retaining abilities of the copolymers in cement slurries were evaluated by mini-slump spread method. Rheological measurements of samples with the best performance were carried out using a rate-controlled coaxial cylinder viscometer. The test results indicate that the dispersing power of the copolymers in cement pastes is strongly affected by the structure and degree of polymerization of the monomers
