    Abstract
    A new approach for attaining numerical solution to sinusoidal steady-state Maxwell's equations is developed. This approach is based on Yee's method, and can be applied on unstructured grids. A problem is solved by the method and the results show good agreement with the available analytical solution.     In this paper, the transient motion of a three unit intelligent Pipe Inspection Gauge (PIG) while moving across anomalies and bends inside gas/oil pipeline has been investigated.     This study presents a steady-state Markov chain model to predict the long-term probability of drought conditions. The research aims to propose a rigorous framework for statistical analysis of drought characteristics and its trends over time for a large area of aquifers and plains in Iran. For this purpose, two meteorological indicators called the Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI), and the Groundwater Resource Index (GRI) are examined. The groundwater drought study includes more than 26,000 wells in about 600 meteorological stations over 20 years being surveyed daily.     In this study, a new two-way relaying scheme based on compute-and-forward (CMF) framework and relay selection strategies is proposed, which provides a higher throughput than the conventional two-way relaying schemes. Two cases of relays with or without feedback transmission capability are considered. An upper bound on the computation rate of each relay is derived, and based on that, a lower bound on the outage probability of the system is presented assuming block Rayleigh fading channels.     The soil slurry-sequencing bath reactor (SS-SBR) was studied to treat poorly graded sand with clay (SP-SC) contaminated by aged petroleum hydrocarbons and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) with concentrations of 23000 mg/kg and 750 mg/kg respectively. An 8 L bioreactor was operated with a 10% solid concentration (0.1 kg dry soil/L slurry). The fill period was relatively instantaneous, and the draw period lasted approximately 1 minute so the react period comprised essentially the entire cycle time.     The feasibility of a mesophilic anaerobic treatment of an alcohol distillery wastewater (beet molasses stillage) was studied in a 1300 I Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket (UASB) reactor for a period of 180 days. The system was seeded with 600 L of mesophilic anaerobic sludge harvested from the bottom of a dairy anaerobic lagoon. Nutrients were added to acidified effluent and after adjusting the pH in an equalization tank, the system was fed with a diluted effluent containing COD in the range of 1000-11000 mg/L at 30°C.
