    Abstract
The burning of fossil fuels such as gasoline, coal, oil, natural gas in combustion reactions results in the production of carbon dioxide. The phase behavior of the carbon dioxide + water system is complex topic. Unlike methane, CO2 exhibits a minimum in the water content. These minima cannot be predicted by existing methods accurately. In this communication, two mathematical-based procedures have been proposed for accurate computation of CO2 water content for tempe-ratures between 273.15 and 348.15 K and the pressure range between 0.5 and 21 MPa. The first is based on least squares support vector machine (LSSVM) algorithm and the second applies multilayer perceptron (MLP) artificial neural...

    Abstract
This thesis is going to investigate the ontological foundation of Science and Tool. To this aim, it refers to Heidegger’s works especially the Being and time. Heidegger gets involve in analyzing Science in the Being and Time. He emphasizes on importance of establishment of a fundamental knowledge which should ontologically recognize basic concepts and methods of Sciences, to cause a real progress in sciences. Heidegger also asserts that the Mathematical interpretation of the world is not a fundamental, and it must be replaced with phenomenological interpretation, which clarifies the ontological foundation of the theoretical view, and regards to all aspects of world’s existence. In this...

Kierkegaardian Faith: On The Subject of Faith and Her Hope

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Masoudi, Hamid (Author) ; Sefidkhoh, Meisam (Supervisor) ; Azadegan, Ebrahim (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this treatise, it will be shown that the subject of faith is the subject who loves God and in showing her love to God, she sacrifices her dearest things in the world. By doing that, she would free herself from everything that mind herself. She doesn’t do this action to be given a better reward by God. Her motivation for performing this action is nothing but love. Meanwhile, the subject of faith hopes God to respond to her love and engage in an I-Thou relationship with her. Now, her hope would be justified when God plays an active role in the world and admires her action, i.e., when eros can be attributed to God

Multi-Conductor Transmission Line Models for Analysis of Metal-Dielectric -Metal Nanoplasmonic Structures

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bahadori, Meisam (Author) ; Mehrany, Khashayar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The existing transmission line models of plasmonic nanostructures are modified in this thesis to study the electromagnetic characteristics of nano-plasmonic structures in a more efficeint yet accurate enough fashion. First, rectangular plasmonic cavities made by carving dielectric rectangles within a metallic region are modeled by trasnmission lines of finite length being appropriately terminated at their both ends. The resonance conditon in the proposed model yeilds the resonance frequencies, quality factors, and mode profiles of its correspondig plasmonic resonator. The accuracy of the proposed model is assessed by using the fully numerical finite-difference time-domain method (FDTD)...

Analysis of a Two-Echelon Queuing-Inventory System with M/M/c Product System

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bahadori, Amirkhosro (Author) ; Hajji, Alireza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The subject of this thesis is a two-echelon inventory system with a manufacturer and multiple distribution centers (DCs) that satisfy the demand originating from multiple sources. Demand from each source follows an independent Poisson process. The transportation times between the manufacturer and the DCs are assumed to be positive which may require keeping inventory at both the warehouse and the DCs. Inventory in both echelons is managed using the base-stock policy. The manufacturer works with
M/M/c product system. The cost of demand fulfillment for each DC consists of inventory holding and backlog costs. The objective is to determine the optimal base-stock levels at the DC

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bahadori, Milad (Author) ; Sharif Khani, Mohammad (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The crypto-processors are used for encryption and decryption of the sensitive and important information. A crypto-processor converts input plaintext to ciphertext by an input key using a particular cryptographic algorithm. It also converts ciphertext to plaintext by the same or another key. Cryptographic standards are divided in two types: symmetric key algorithms (private key) and asymmetric key algorithms (public key). Current processors generally support only one or a few number of cryptographic algorithms. The motivation of this project is design and implementation of a multi-standard crypto-processor which supports the most of symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms, such as...

    , Article Journal of Lightwave Technology ; Vol. 32, issue. 15 , August , 2014 , pp. 2659-2665 ; ISSN: 07338724 Bahadori, M ; Eshaghian, A ; Mehrany, K ; Sharif University of Technology
    2014
    Abstract
A circuit model based on the transmission line theory is proposed to analyze the recently introduced metal-insulator-metal (MIM) complementary split-ring resonators (CSRRs). It is shown that integer and noninteger modes of CSRRs can be characterized by transmission line models with short- and open-circuited terminals. The proposed circuit model is then extended to incorporate side-coupling effects between the CSRRs and straight MIM waveguides. Thereby, simple closed-form expressions are provided for the coupling quality factor. It is shown that waveguide resonator structures based on CSRRs at specific resonance frequency and bandwidth can be smaller than waveguide resonator structures based...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Bahadori, Babak (Author) ; Askari, Masoud (Supervisor) ; Nosheh, Mohammad (Co-Advisor)
    Abstract
Today a significant portion of the world magnesia supply is produced by approximately 20 manufacturers by precipitation of magnesium hydroxide either from seawater or brine sources, which amounts to about 14% of the world magnesia production. The first synthetic magnesia production occurred along the French coast of the Mediterranean Sea, near Aiques-Mortes, operating sometime before 1885. Magnesium hydroxide was precipitated from seawater by reacting it with milk of lime in a continuous fashion using three sequential agitated reactors. Because of the abundance of brine resources enrich in Magnesium in our country, in this project, was tried to precipitate Magnesium Hydroxide from brine...

    Abstract
Vapor liquid equilibrium (VLE) data has significant role in designing processes which include vapor and liquid in equilibrium. Since it is impractical to measure equilibrium data at any desired temperature and pressure, particularly near critical region, thermodynamic models based on equation of state (EOS) are usually used for VLE estimating. In recent years due to the development of numerical tools like artificial intelligence methods, VLE prediction has been find new alternatives. In the present study a novel method called Least-Squares Support Vector Machine (LSSVM) used for predicting bubble/dew point pressures of binary mixtures containing carbon dioxide (CO 2) + cyclic compounds as...

Thermal Performance Evaluation of Domed Roofs

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Faghih, Ahmad Reza (Author) ; Bahadori Nezhad, Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Domed roofs were commonly used in buildings with large areas. These roofs played an important role in the Iranian architecture and had a great effect on the buildings cooling loads. Solar energy absorption causes the roof temperature to increase in comparison with its ambient atmosphere. Wind flow removes some of the heat from the roof, and the rest goes thorough the roof and enters the building. The eometrical configuration of these domed roofs causes the wind velocity to increase over them, resulting in an increase in the convection heat transfer coefficient. Also, the heat transfer of the roof is accentuated by the fact that the area of a domed configuration is considerably greater than a...
