Abstract
Breast cancer is the fifth cause of death from cancer and one of the most common fatal cancers in women. The commonly drugs used to treat cancer often destroy healthy tissues and cells and cause common side effects. It is also necessary to consume a large amount of the drug to achieve a particular effect. One of the applications of nanotechnology is drug delivery. Niosomes are one of the newest drug delivery systems that are nowadays much more widely considered due to better penetration and controlled release. One of the most effective medicines for treating breast cancer is statins. These drugs are a group of lipids lowering drugs that lower the synthesis of cholesterol by inhibiting the...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Eskandari, Morteza (Supervisor)
Abstract
Ordinary structures absorb a large amount of input energy by structural elements whereas failure in these elements causes a huge loss in structure and it’s really difficult to repair or unrepairable. Nowadays a wide range of metallic dampers is used in structures as fuse elements. this research evaluates the response of structures that are equipped with a novel steel damper named Telescopic Lead Yield Damper (TLYD) which was introduced by Eskandari in 2018. As TLYD has a different yielding plateau it can tolerate large deformations. In this research firstly this novel damper was introduced and the performance of the damper under cyclic loading was demonstrated. Then a numerical model of 6,...

Abstract
Reliability of machinery and equipment in flexible manufacturing systems are among the most important issues to reduce production costs and to increase efficiency. This paper investigates the reliability of machinery in job shop production systems, where materials, parts, and other production needs are handled by automated guided vehicles (AGV). The failures time of the parallel machines in a given shop follow either an exponential or a Weibull distribution. As there is no closed-form equation to calculate the reliability of the shop in the Weibull case, a simulation approach is taken in this paper to estimate the reliability. Then, a bi-objective nonlinear optimization model is developed...

Abstract
Tool reliability is one of the most important issues in a flexible manufacturing system. If a tool fails to operate correctly, the performance of the manufacturing system is reduced, the due date may be violated, or the product quality falls behind the standards. This paper develops a bi-objective mathematical model for tool selection in a flexible manufacturing system in order to optimize both reliability and cost. The tools in these environments are considered to have increasing failure rates as they are used over time; a case closer to reality. This paper aims to evaluate the availability of different tools used in a production system, in which the reliability of a tool is dependent on...

Abstract
In the present research, a new tweezer T bearing azobenzene linker 1 was prepared, characterized by applying FT-IR spectroscopy, fluorescence spectroscopy, UV–visible spectroscopy, and elemental analysis 1H and 13C{1H} NMR. T crystals were obtained by reaction of 1 with ZnTPP in CHCl3/acetone. Under irradiation with a mercury lamp to achieve the trans-to-cis isomerization, a dramatic color change from violet to green in chloroform was observed. The X-ray crystallography of T revealed an observable macroring deformation of the ZnTPP for the trans isomer. We observed a deviation of 0.11 Å from planarity for the least-squares plane of ZnTPP owing to the axial coordination by the pyridine...

Abstract
The leaching kinetics of stibnite in basic solution has been investigated. Spherical pellets of antimony sulphide were dissolved in 1 molar sodium hydroxide solutions at different temperatures. It was found that the shrinking core with ash layer model could satisfactorily explain the dissolution process. Using this model, it was found that initially the rate controlling step was a chemical reaction with activation energy of 10.2 kJ/mol. As the ash layer built up, diffusion through the ash layer became the rate controlling step. The activation energy for this step was found to be 33.4 kJ/mol. It was also observed that smaller particle size, larger solid to liquid ratio, and higher NaOH...

Abstract
The simultaneous effect of electrospun scaffold alignment and polymer composition on chondrogenic differentiation of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells (hBMMSC) is investigated. Aligned and randomly oriented polycaprolactone/poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) hybrid electrospun scaffolds with two different ratios are fabricated by electrospinning. It is found that aligned nanofibrous scaffolds support higher chondrogenic differentiation of hBMMSCs compared to random ones. The aligned scaffolds show a higher expression level of chondrogenic markers such as type II collagen and aggrecan. It is concluded that the aligned nanofibrous scaffold with higher PLGA ratio could significantly...

Abstract
In recent years, advances in medical science and increasing the level of healthcare have increased the life expectancy index; But in the meantime, a phenomenon called “diseases related to life expectancy” has appeared. Bone and skeletal diseases have a significant share in this category because the passage of time reduces bone mineral density and this is the source of many diseases, including osteoporosis. Current bone therapies, which include autologous and allogeneic bone grafts, will not meet this high need. Bone tissue engineering has been proposed as a potential alternative to solve this challenge. In bone tissue engineering, the essential components required for bone formation and...
