Abstract
In this article, a modified version of the Lee model is utilized to research the effect of variation of the geometric parameters of the electrode system on the amount of the soft X-ray radiation (SXR) yield. The parameters are the anode radius and length, the cathode radius, and the number of rods in the cathode. It will be seen that increasing the anode radius causes an increase in the SXR yield. This is because of the constancy of the ratios of the pinch radius and length to the anode radius and length, respectively. Since the SXR yield scales to the pinch current, increasing the anode length brings a reduction in the yield. When the number of the cathode rods is increased, then the formed...
Notice of violation of IEEE publication principles: a new automatic clustering algorithm via deadline timer for wireless ad-hoc sensor networks
, Article 2008 3rd International Conference on Information and Communication Technologies: From Theory to Applications, ICTTA, 7 April 2008 through 11 April 2008, Damascus ; 2008 ; 9781424417513 (ISBN) ; Movaghar, A ; Barati, A ; Eslami Nejhad, M. R ; Barati, H ; Sharif University of Technology

Abstract
This paper proposes a decentralized algorithm to organize an ad-hoc sensor network into clusters. Each sensor operates independently, monitoring communication among others. Those sensors which have many neighbors that are not already part of a cluster are likely candidates to creating a new cluster by declaring themselves to be a new cluster-head. The Clustering Algorithm via Deadline Timer (CADT) provides a protocol whereby this can be achieved and the process continues until all sensors are part of a cluster. Because of the difficulty of analyses simplified models are used to study and abstract its performance. A simple formula to estimate the number of clusters which will be formed in an...

Abstract
This paper presents different applications of a vector model developed by the authors in Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM) studies including analysis, control and simulations. The BDFM considered consists of a nested-loop type rotor. The vector model, which considers all the loops in each rotor nest, is derived using BDFM coupled-circuit model equations and by applying appropriate vector transformations. Three vector transformations are employed for the derivation of vector model corresponding to two three-phase windings in the stator and the rotor circuit. Each transformation consists of an angle which is, in general, unspecified and must be assigned appropriately depending on the...

Abstract
Thermal expansion and hot deformation are two phenomena causing dimensional errors in investment casting. This error occurs in dimensions between the die and wax pattern. Therefore, the wax's thermo-physical and thermo-mechanical properties, the metal die features, and the process parameters affect the dimensions of the wax pattern. Some important effective process parameters are the injection temperature, die temperature, and holding time. In this paper, the effect of injection parameters on the dimensional accuracy of the wax model created by a metallic die is studied. The Taguchi formulation based on the design of experiments is applied to obtain the optimum condition in achieving the...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Behzadipour, Saeed (Supervisor) ; Narimani, Roya (Co-Advisor)
Abstract
The behavior movement of human is fundamentally concerned with the relationship between the central nervous system of motor control، and musculoskeletal system of a human. Optimal control was employed to relate these structures together. Movement is one of the important part of human life، CNS is important because it has the fundamental role in the movement. Investigators believe that CNS is learned by iteration movements from childhood and finally it chooses the movement that makes a cost function minimum value of itself. Researching for CNS modeling grows in recent years on the different part of human body. Because upper body have less difficulty in movements، it is more useful for CNS...

, Article International Journal of Distributed Sensor Networks ; Vol. 2014 , 2014 ; Movaghar, A ; Sabaei, M ; Sharif University of Technology
2014
Abstract
Reliability and energy consumption are two of the main constraints in wireless sensor networks (WSNs). In this paper, a novel energy efficient and high speed error control scheme is introduced that is based on the Redundant Residue Number System (RRNS) allowing real-time application of WSNs. The proposed approach employs a new 3-moduli set {22n+1, 2 2n1-1, 2n- 1 } and an efficient reverse converter which relies on the Mixed Radix Conversion (MRC) algorithm and achieves significant improvements both in terms of conversion delay and hardware design. In order to obtain error controllability, two-redundant-moduli set 23n+1 - 1, 24n+1 - 1 is also added to the main 3-moduli set. The theoretical...

Abstract
The paper deals with a new reliable data transport protocol for wireless sensor networks, referred as RDTP. One of the most prominent challenges in wireless sensor networks is reliable transport of data from sensor nodes to sink node. For designing protocols for such networks hardware, some constraining factors associated with energy and processing power must be taken into consideration. There are two generic methods, ARQ and FEC to achieve reliable data transport. Here, a reliable data transport protocol for wireless sensor networks is proposed, in which an efficient moduli set in redundant residue number system has been employed. The modulus set is exploited as a means for adding...

Abstract
The Brushless Doubly-Fed Machine (BDFM) has the potential to be employed either as a motor in drive applications or as a generator in variable speed wind power applications. The Doubly-Fed Induction Machine (DFIM) is, currently, the main generator used for wind power applications while it suffers from the existence of slip-ring and brushes. The BDFM can potentially achieve the characteristics such as those of the DFIM while it benefits from the brushless operation. This dissertation aims to show the efficacies of the BDFM for variable speed power generation by developing and implementation of a suitable vector control structure. For this purpose, at first a vector model is developed for the...
The Investigation of Sustainable Transportation System Characteristics
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Malaek, Mohammad Bagher (Supervisor)
Abstract
This work, with the help of FUZZY DEMATEL and FUZZY TOPSIS methods investigates the behavior of a general transportation system. In fact, we have been able to develop a cause and effect model to describe why in an unsustainable system any increase in the so called “human value” would not help increase the overall system’s sustainability. Moreover, we have been able to analyze the new role of the key stakeholders as “insurance companies”. in fact, such companies receives a guaranteed flow of money without providing any extra services in the current unstable situation which help widen the gap and increase the rate of instabilities. Further investigations might be necessary to examine the role...
