Abstract
This paper investigates the development of cellular structures created by the propagation of a detonation wave in a gaseous mixture. Two dimensional reactive Euler equations with an idealized one-step Arrhenius type reaction model are solved using the PPM scheme coupled with the exact Riemann solver. The numerical flow solver simulates the evolution process of regular cellular structures of a weakly unstable detonation wave. The cellular structures are generated by two-dimensional sinusoidal perturbations imposed on a ZND detonation wave. The initial sinusoidal perturbation wavelengths are predicted from linear stability analysis. The objective of these calculations is to examine the...
Numerical Simulation of Cellular Structure of Detonation Wave and Evaluation of Linear Instability Analysis
, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Farshchi, Mohammad (Supervisor)
Abstract
Experimental studies of regular cell structure of a weak detonation wave in a gaseous mixture of hydrogen and oxygen diluted with argon have shown that for a constant initial thermodynamic condition, the final cell size differs by repeating the tests. The question is that if these different final cell sizes for a constant initial condition are because of test errors, or the experiments would lead to a domain of solution in the form of different final cell sizes? Therefore, the aim of this study is to investigate, numerically, the evolution process and domain of variation of cellular structure of a weak detonation, and their dependency to unstable wavelengths obtained from linear instability...
Information-flow Analysis in Android Apps for Protecting User Privacy
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Amini, Morteza (Supervisor)
Abstract
The rapid growth of Android operating system alongside its open-source nature has made it as the most popular operating system of mobile devices. On the other hand, regarding the increasing computational power of mobile devices, a wide variety of applications are coming to this type of devices. Meanwhile unfortunately many malicious softwares trying to keep up with other applications, are targeting this popular operating system. Therefore with regard to the fact that this type of devices usually store private and sensitive information of their users, security of mobile operating systems is considered very important. Having this matter in mind, the goal of this research work has been...
Study of NxOy Macrocycles Bearing Peripheral Functional Groups as Axial Ligands of Zinc Tetraphenylporphyrin
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Ghanbari, Bahram (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this project, M2 macrocyclic ligand, bearing three pyridine side arms (3p) was synthesized and characterized by employing elemental analysis and 1H NMR, 13C NMR and IR methods. The interaction of 3p with zinc tetraphenylporphyrin was investigated, using fluorescence and UV-vis spectroscopy in solution phase. The observed quenching in the fluorescence spectrum alongside Q band shift in UV-vis spectrum indicate on the interaction of 3p with ZnTPP. The formation constant for these interactions in 1:1 ratio was calculated 10100 M-1, employing fluorescence method. The formation constant was calculated 630 M-1 for 1:2 ratio for 3p:ZnTPP. Having 1:2 ratio 3pZnTPP was also synthesized and...
Electromagnetic Scattering Simulation Based on SPH Method Using GPU Parallel Processing
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shishegar, AmirAhmad (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this thesis, we propose and discuss efficient GPU implementation using CUDA for simulating electromagnetic scattering. We use SPH as a meshless particle method to electromagnetic transient simulation in time domain. Smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) has been recently reformulated by the authors, and implemented in the so-called smoothed particle electromagnetics (SPEM) method. In SPEM two set of electric and magnetic staggered particles have to be generated. These particles are the points in which the field components are computed at each time step by using the information belonging to the neighboring ones.

Abstract
This article is intended to highlight the effectiveness of longitudinal Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) bars in combination with GFRP sheets on the flexural capacity of Reinforced Concrete (RC) columns. Seven half-scale RC columns including five strengthened and two control unstrengthened specimens were experimentally tested under axial and cyclic lateral loads. The strengthened columns with two different longitudinal GFRP bar ratios were tested under three different axial load levels. The flexural strength and ductility parameters of the specimens were calculated by obtaining their deformations and measuring the loads from load cells. The experimental results indicate significant...

Abstract
The use of Near-surface Mounted (NSM) FRP bars is an efficient strengthening technique to enhance the flexural strength of RC structures. This article is intended to analytically investigate the effectiveness of Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) bars in combination with GFRP wraps on the flexural capacity of reinforced concrete (RC) columns with Fiber Element Modeling approach. The accuracy and reliability of the proposed fiber-based modeling method is demonstrated by numerical models on seven half-scale experimental RC reference columns under axial and cyclic lateral loads. These reference specimens are comprised of seven half-scale RC columns including two unstrengthened and five...

Abstract
Internet technology has influenced the banking systems because of its capability to enhance performance of financial operations. A major concern of Internet banking systems is the customers’ perception of security and trust. This study presents an experimental investigation on important factors influencing trust in e-payments systems in Iran. A set of potentially determinant factors of trust is developed and organized in three major groups: technical and transaction procedures, access to security guidelines, and usability. The direct effect of the factors on perceived trust, along with their indirect effect through perceived security, is evaluated in an empirical study. The data are...
