    Investigation of the scavenging mechanism of tyrosyl radical by hydroxybenzohydroxamic acid derivatives: A DFT study

    Abstract
    The free radical scavenging activity of a series of hydroxybenzohydroxamic acid derivatives have been studied in gas phase, water and benzene environments, using the density functional theory. Different mechanisms of reactions have been considered: single electron transfer (SET), hydrogen atom transfer (HAT). Rate constants were determined to know if the radical scavenging activity of these compounds proceeds via an H-atom or an electron-transfer mechanism. Calculations showed that the presence of the adjacent hydroxyl groups on phenyl ring increases the radical stability through intramolecular hydrogen bonds.     Abstract
    In this work, the antioxidant ability of fisetin was explored toward hydroxyl (•OH) radical in aqueous and lipid solution using density functional level of theory. Different reaction mechanisms have been studied: hydrogen atom transfer, single electron transfer followed by proton transfer, and radical adduct formation, and sequential proton loss electron transfer. Rate constants for all possible reaction sites have been calculated using conventional transition state theory in conjunction with the Collins-Kimball theory.     In this study, the effects of the remote intramolecular hydrogen bonding on the acidity of hydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone derivatives have been investigated ab initio by employing density functional theory (DFT) methods. The computational studies were performed for both gas and solution (H 2 O, DMSO, and MeCN solutions) phases. Our results indicated that remote hydrogen bonding could play an important role in increasing the acidity of hydroxy-1,4-benzoquinone.     Abstract
    The free radical activity of lespedezacoumestan was investigated toward hydroxyl (˙OH) radical in polar and nonpolar media using density functional theory. Four reaction mechanisms including radical adduct formation, hydrogen atom transfer, sequential single electron-proton transfer (SET-PT), and sequential proton loss electron transfer were considered. The rate constants and branching ratio for all possible sites of reaction were calculated and reported for the first time.     Abstract
    The interactions between five amino acid based anions ([AA] - (AA = Gly, Phe, His, Try, and Tyr)) and N7,N9-dimethylguaninium cation ([dMG] +) have been investigated by the hybrid density functional theory method B3LYP together with the basis set 6-311++G(d,p). The calculated interaction energy was found to decrease in magnitude with increasing side-chain length in the amino acid anion. The interaction between the [dMG] + cation and [AA] - anion in the most stable configurations of ion pairs is a hydrogen bonding interaction.     In this study, conductive sodium alginate/polyaniline/graphene (PAG) NGCs were fabricated utilizing a straightforward solution extrusion method. The 4 point-probe test revealed that the addition of PAG has increased the conductivity of the NGCs up to 9.7 × 10−3 S.cm−1. The results also showed a remarkable increase in the Young modulus and SEM images revealed that the suggested process could produce NGCs continuously and uniformly with desirable porosity.     Memristor is the fourth fundamental passive circuit element which has potential applications in development of analog memristive memories, neuroscience, and brain simulation. In all of these applications the memristance of the device should be adjusted to the desired value, which is currently performed by trial and error. The aim of this paper is to propose a new method and develop a circuit for automatic adjustment of the memristance of memristive devices.     In this study, ionic liquids formed between 1-ethyl-3-methylimidazolium cation ([emim]+) and alkyltrifluoroborate ([RBF3]-, R = n-CmH2m+1 (m = 1-5)) anions have been investigated theoretically. The interactions between the cation and anions have also been calculated at the MP2/6-311++G(d,p)//B3LYP/6-311++G(d,p) level of theory. The calculated interaction energies were found to decrease in magnitude with the increase of side-chain length in anions. The results of energy decomposition analysis (EDA) show that the interaction of these anions with [emim]+ cation is electrostatic in the nature and the side chain length in the anions has an important effect on the contribution of ΔEelect term.     In this research, initially anodization process was used to fabricate ZnO nanorods on Zn substrate and then RF sputtering technique was applied to grow a thin layer of polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon) on the coated ZnO nanorods for producing a superhydrophobic surface. According to scanning electron microscopy (SEM) observations, ZnO nanorods were formed with average diameter and length of about ∼180 nm and 14 μm, respectively.     In this research, we have used glancing angle deposition (GLAD) RF sputtering technique with various angular speeds ranging from 5 to 30 RPM to fabricate polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE, Teflon) coated Tungsten on glass substrate for producing hydrophobic surface.     The interaction potential energy and heat of sublimation of nanoparticles of HMX crystal polymorphs are studied by using molecular dynamics methods with a previously developed force field [Bedrov, et al., J. Comput.-Aided Mol. Des. 8 (2001) 77]. Molecular dynamics simulations of nanoparticles with 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, and 100 molecules of HMX are carried out at 300 K.     In this research, nickel thin films have been deposited on Si (1 0 0) substrate using the dc sputtering method. Then, the deposited layers were annealed in different temperatures to oxidize and crystallize the as prepared layers. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis indicated that the nanorod shape of the nickel oxides has grown on the substrate and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy determined the formation of stoichiometric NiO on the surface. In order to obtain a high resolution (HR) image from its low resolution (LR) counterpart (original image), an interpolator function (array) is used, and the main focus of this manuscript is to formulate and define this function. By applying this interpolator function to each row and column of a LR image, it is possible to construct its HR counterpart.
