Abstract
Nowadays, electrical energy is one of the crucial requirements in human beings’ lives. Since the majority of the world’s energy is met by fossil fuel, the problems such as global warming, the reduction of fossil fuel resources, and unpredictable oscillation of the prices of such fuels have led to a serious crisis for the people of the world. Furthermore, due to the increasing energy demand, the economic development of most countries has a strong correlation with fossil fuel prices. The abovementioned problems have made a lot of countries take alternative policies in terms of generating energy, one of which is using renewable energy resources. This approach is reported to be clean and...
Rheological and mechanical characteristics of low density polyethylene/ethylene-vinyl acetate/organoclay nanocomposites

Abstract
Attempts were made to trace the effect of organoclay (OC) on the rheological and mechanical behaviors of the low density polyethylene (LDPE)/ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) blends. To do this effectively, in addition to LDPE/EVA/OC system, pure LDPE and LDPE/EVA blends were also examined as model systems. The rheological behavior was determined by the capillary rheometer. Morphological characterization was also carried out using X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and theoretical approach based on interfacial energies. Shear viscosity, tensile strength and elastic modulus of LDPE/EVA were found to decrease by increasing the EVA...

Abstract
Limitations in operation of analog switches at very low voltages have caused many problems in design of these types of switched capacitor circuits and data converters. In this paper by modifying a recently proposed clock boosting circuit, we could obtain a new structure with better performance for very low voltage circuits. This method requires simpler digital circuits in comparison with previously reported structures, as well as less number of transistors and smaller chip area. This method can be used for sampling the full swing signals with supply voltages as low as 0.4 volt. © 2008 IEEE
Properties of Radiation Induced LDPE/EVA Nanocomposits
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Shojaei, Akbar (Supervisor) ; Sheikh, Nasrin (Supervisor)
Abstract
Polyethylene (PE) is used as an insulation material for wires and cables because of its excellent electrical properties. For such application, it can be exposed to the high energy irradiation such as gamma ray and electron beam (EB), making possible crosslinking of the PE. Most of the properties of PE are improved greatly after irradiation, but it was harden and split easily. Due to the flexibility of EVA, depending on the vinyl acetate content, it can improve the toughness of the LDPE significantly upon addition to this polymer. As a result, radiation induced LDPE/EVA blend has been a good candidate for the wire and cable insulation. Also, upon addition of a few amount of OC, different...
