An Appraisal of Trade and Transportation Trends in Asia-Europe-Africa
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Vaziri, Manouchehr (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this research, trade and transportation trends of Asia-Europe-Africa, in the both intercontinental and intracontinental levels have been analyzed. With analyses which are done in this research, determinant factors for modeling and investigating international bilateral trade in these three continents have been recognized. The relevant time-series data were extracted from centralized and international databases. The examined database consists of 11 variables grouped in four categories: bilateral trade data, transportation, geographical and socio-economic characteristics. Transportation data is based on three different networks. The first network consisted of highway, rail and marine modes...
Developing Innovative International Asset Allocation Strategies Using Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Models
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Zamani, Shiva (Supervisor)
Abstract
On the one hand, the diminishing borders between countries in global financial markets, and on the other hand, the democratization and diversification of investment options due to technological advancements, have enabled investments in assets beyond one's home country. Furthermore, the emergence of multipolarity in the global economy, with the rise of economies challenging the dominance of Wall Street’s financial system, has led even American investors to shift their focus toward international markets. Geopolitical and geoeconomic transformations have also made the idea of global investment, while considering all associated risks and complexities, appear to be a prudent choice. Therefore,...
Estimation of solidification cracking susceptibility in Al–Si–Cu alloy weld: effects of anisotropic permeability and deformation orientation

Abstract
Weld solidification cracking susceptibility (SCS) was evaluated using an analytical model developed considering the anisotropic permeability (i.e., permeability which is different in directions parallel and perpendicular to the primary dendrite arms) and deviation of the imposed deformation from the normal direction with respect to the primary dendrite arm (ϕ). The model was investigated for Al–Si–Cu alloys in the solid fraction range from 0.87 to 0.94. Low Si- high Cu content alloys showed the maximum SCS due to variation in the physical properties of weld pool, i.e., viscosity, solidification range and solid fraction as a function of temperature. Decrease in deviation of the deformation...

Abstract
Solidification cracking is one the most common types of cracking in the weld of the aluminum alloys. Although some numerical models have been developed for investigation of the solidification cracking, the effect of the grain misorientation on the solidification cracking susceptibility (SCS) of a weld has rarely been considered. This work studies the effect of the angle between the primary arms of the dendrites on the SCS. Hence, a solidification cracking model was developed given the grain misorientation in the convergence condition. The model was investigated for Al-Cu alloys. When the grain boundary energy was considered in the model, there was an increase in the SCS for misorientation...
Production of net-shaped dense metal-carbide-based composites through an infiltration process at intermediate temperature

Abstract
Tungsten composites are interesting materials for high temperature applications. These composites are conventionally produced by solid state reaction, where elevated temperatures and long sintering processes are inevitable, and generally produce volatile components that increase defects and impair the properties of the composites for high temperature applications. In the present paper, synthesis of dense near net-shaped transition metal-metal carbide by reaction casting is studied, which creates a potential application for the composite at 2000 C. Since the pores of the ceramic preform are filled with reaction products, this technique is referred to as displacive compensation porosity (DCP)....
A novel cnn-lstm model for predicting the railway sector stock price in the tehran stock exchange

Abstract
As a country's financing arm, the capital market can play a crucial role in long-term projects and be responsible for large-scale financing. While the development of rail transport has exceptionally positive and significant effects on the country's macroeconomy, and investment in this sector leads to the prosperity of other economic sectors, the return on investment may be delayed or unclear. Consequently, this uncertainty diminishes the investment appeal in this field. Thus, predicting the price and future value of railway company stocks on the stock market is vital due to the need for the foresight to take safe investment measures and achieve sustainable financing. To this end, this paper...

Abstract
Solidification cracking is one of the most common types of cracks in aluminum alloy welds. Predicting the possibility of Solidification cracking can be useful in selecting the variables of the welding process in such a way that a crack-free joint is obtained. In the present research, in the first stage, a criterion of sensitivity to solidification cracking is presented by considering the anisotropic permeability equation and direction of applying deformation to the melt pool. Then, the criterion has been investigated for aluminum-copper and aluminum-copper-silicon alloys. The results indicated that Al-3.5 wt% Cu alloy has the highest solidification cracking susceptibility (SCS) in the...

Abstract
This study aims to develop sunitinib niosomal formulations and assess their in-vitro anti-cancer efficiency against lung cancer cell line, A549. Sunitinib, a highly effective anticancer drug, was loaded in the niosome with high encapsulation efficiency. Collagen was coated on the surface of the niosome for enhanced cellular uptake and prolonged circulation time. Different formulations were produced, while response surface methodology was utilized to optimize the formulations. The stability of the formulations was evaluated over a 2-month period, revealing the importance of collagen coating. MTT assay demonstrated dose-dependent cytotoxicity for all formulations against lung cancer cells....
