Algebraic Topology Metheds on Graph Coloring

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Pouria Omidi (Author) ; Jafari, Amir (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The aim of this thesis is to introduce some algebraic topologies methods and apply them on fining the chromatic number of some famous graphs and also hypergraphs. In the first part, we will use a mixture of two well-known technics, Tucker lemma and Discrete Morse theory to find an upper bound for the chromatic number of s-stable Kneser for some specific vector s. to find the sharper upper bound, we will deviate our strategy and use another approach by finding an edge-labeling and apply some theorems in POSET algebraic topology. In this way, we also find a connection between Young diagrams and the numbers of spheres in the box complex related to Kneser graphs and hypergraph. Actually, we can...

    Scattring Amplitudes in N = 4 Super Y angMills

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Dadras, Pouria (Author) ; Mansouri, Reza (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Studing the Scattering Amplitudes has a crucial importance in Quantum Field Theory; and nowadays; there have been many progress in computing these observables: Scattering amplitudes respect the symmetries of a theory: However; it is possible for them to have more symmetries than ones can be seen from the lagrangian of the theory: On the other hand; Feynman diagrams which manifest the locality and unitarity of the theory are not applicable in these kind of theories; since for computing the easiest scattering amplitudes thousends of these diagrams must be computed: In this work; we are going to see using BCFW recursion relation and onshell diagrams how it is easy to compute the scattering...

A concrete anti-de Sitter black hole with dynamical horizon having toroidal cross-sections and its characteristics

    , Article EPL ; Volume 100, Issue 3 , 2012 ; 02955075 (ISSN) Dadras, P ; Firouzjaee, J. T ; Mansouri, R ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
We propose a special solution of Einstein equations in the general Vaidya form representing a dynamical black hole having horizon cross-sections with toroidal topology. The concrete model enables us to study for the first time dynamical horizons with toroidal topology, its area law, and the question of matter flux inside the horizon, without using a cut-and-paste technology to construct the solution

Performance Assessment of PEM Fuel Cell in Extreme Conditions (Sub- Freezing Temperatures)

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Shirazi, Peimaneh (Author) ; Rajabi Qhahnuyeh, Abbas (Supervisor) ; Ahmadi, Pouria (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Fossil fuels provide the most needs of the world's energy, however, continues to lead to two key problems. The first problem is their limitation, and the second problem is the creation of serious environmental issues. Therefore, the need for renewable energy sources is felt more than ever.As an energy source, hydrogen is the lightest, most efficient and cleanest fuel. One of its unique properties is efficiency, the production of electricity by fuel cells through the electrochemical process, has far greater efficiency than of mechanical energy production from fossil fuels in internal combustion engines or energy production in thermal power plants. A fuel cell is a device that converts...

Hall anomaly in CNT-doped Y-123 high temperature superconductor

    , Article Physica C: Superconductivity and its Applications ; Volume 470, Issue 5-6 , 2010 , Pages 309-312 ; 09214534 (ISSN) Dadras, S ; Manivannan, N ; Kim, K. H ; Daadmehr, V ; Akhavan, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2010
    Abstract
In order to study the Hall effect in pure and CNT-doped Y-123 polycrystalline samples, we have measured the longitudinal and transverse voltages at different magnetic field (0 - 9 T) in the normal and vortex states. In the normal state, the Hall coefficient is positive and decreases with increasing temperature, and can be approximately fitted to RH = a + bT-1. We have found a sign reversal in the pure sample for the magnetic field of about 3 T, and double sign reversal of the Hall coefficient in the 0.7 wt% CNT-doped sample at about 3 and 5 T. The Hall resistivity in our samples depends on the pinning

Pressure effects on the carbon nano-tube embedded Y-123 superconductors

    , Article Physica B: Condensed Matter ; Volume 487 , 2016 , Pages 42-46 ; 09214526 (ISSN) Dadras, S ; Manivannan, N ; Daadmehr, Vahid ; Tayefeh Rezakhani, A ; Hoon Kim, K ; Sharif University of Technology

    Abstract
It has been known that applying pressure and doping carbon nano-tubes (CNTs) can each affect the behavior of high temperature superconductors. Here, bridging these two effects in order to see how they can interplay, we investigate how the dc resistivity varies in both pure and CNT-doped polycrystalline YBa2Cu3O7-δ (Y-123) compounds under hydrostatic pressure. We demonstrate that the broadening of the resistivity transition in the CNT-doped samples (of 0.7 wt%) is smaller than the undoped samples. In addition, by increasing applied pressure, the doped samples exhibit a higher rate of the increase of the transition temperatures Tcon and Tcmid than the undoped samples. Interestingly as well,...

    Abstract
Abstract: Carbonyl compounds were prepared by selective oxidation of alcohols in the presence of recoverable Fe 3O 4@ SiO 2@ Pd magnetic nanocatalyst in aqueous media as a green solvent. Molecular oxygen served as an oxidant. The catalyst was removed from the reaction media by external magnetic field, washed with methanol, and reused for six more times without any considerable reduction in its reactivity. The chemoselectivity and regioselectivity of the catalyst can serve for selective oxidation of primary alcohols in the presence of secondary ones, and for oxidation of unhindered alcohols in the presence of hindered ones. Graphical Abstract: Selective and facile oxidation of alcohols to...

    Abstract
Aryl halides and especially inactive aryl chlorides were coupled to benzenoid aromatic rings in a Suzuki–Miyaura coupling reaction in the absence of organic solvents and toxic phosphine ligands. The reaction was catalysed by a recoverable magnetic nanocatalyst, Pd@Fe3O4, in aqueous media. This method is green, and the catalyst is easily removed from the reaction media using an external magnetic field and can be re-used at least 10 times without any considerable loss in its activity. The catalyst was characterized using scanning and transmission electron microscopies, thermogravimetric analysis, inductively coupled plasma spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, CHN analysis,...

    Abstract
Background: Measuring routine childhood vaccination is crucial to inform global vaccine policies and programme implementation, and to track progress towards targets set by the Global Vaccine Action Plan (GVAP) and Immunization Agenda 2030. Robust estimates of routine vaccine coverage are needed to identify past successes and persistent vulnerabilities. Drawing from the Global Burden of Diseases, Injuries, and Risk Factors Study (GBD) 2020, Release 1, we did a systematic analysis of global, regional, and national vaccine coverage trends using a statistical framework, by vaccine and over time. Methods: For this analysis we collated 55 326 country-specific, cohort-specific, year-specific,...
