Abstract
In this paper, the effects of annealing temperature and time on mechanical properties and bond strength of aluminum clad steel sheet are evaluated. The results indicate that there exist an optimum annealing temperature and time for achieving a suitable formability and bonding strength between the clad layer and base metal. At this annealing time and temperature, the brittle intermetallic layer at the intimate interface of the layers is minimized. © 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved

Abstract
A mathematical model for cold rolling of symmetrical sandwich strip is proposed using the upper bound theorem to investigate the plastic deformation behavior of the strip at the roll gap. The velocity fields derived from the proposed upper bound model can satisfy automatically the volume constancy and the velocity boundary conditions within the roll gap. Abstract
The production of an aluminum-clad steel sheet by the cold rolling process is a more efficient and economical approach compared with the other types of processes utilized for the production of such sheets. In this process, high plastic deformation of two metals, aluminum and steel, is necessary to create the cold bonding between the intermediate surfaces. Therefore, the work-hardened sheet must be annealed in order to obtain a high formability. Aluminum coated steel sheet is an excellent composite material in which; the strength and economy of steel and durability of aluminum are combined. This material is produced by several methods. However, there are two main technologies to produce aluminized steel sheets: 1) the hot dip method and 2) the aluminum clad method (cold roll welding process). Abstract
This letter discusses the surface-reconstruction-induced self-twisting behavior of Si100 nanobelts and nanowires (NWs) with rectangular cross section. Giving a thorough physical interpretation, we explain the reason behind this phenomenon and present a continuum-based model. It is revealed that these structures can self-assemble into both right- and left-handed helicoids depending on their crystal arrangements. More specifically, for NWs with the same number of layers in each of their cross sections directions, two distinct values of torsion angle are possible for each of right- and left-handed twisted morphologies. Abstract
The mechanisms of cold roll welding of aluminium alloy to steel strip has been assessed based on a study of interfacial behaviour at deformations of up to 60% together with the surface characteristics of peeled Al clad steel strip. The proposed mechanisms are applicable where the contact surfaces are degreased and then scratch brushed before the rolling deformation. According to this mechanisms the scratch-brushed layers are fractured shortly after entering the roll gap at a reduction of approximately 10%, which is about the threshold deformation for the roll bonding of aluminium to steel. Abstract
Purification of extracellular α-amylase from Bacillus subtilis was carried out via fractional precipitation by acetone and ion exchange chromatography. These steps provide fast precipitation as well as purification of α-amylase to improve enzyme purity, activity and stability. Compared with two-phase methods in which the yield was less than 1, this method resulted in a yield of more than 3. Moreover, 95% of acetone was recovered that enhanced the economy of the downstream process. This study focuses on the mode classification of phones speaker modes using GMM 1. In this regard, speech data in both enabled and disabled speaker modes of cell phones and telephones were collected, processed and classified into two different categories. The different mixture numbers (1 to 4) of GMM and wave files sizes of 10, 20, 40 and 80 kb were tested in order to obtain an optimal condition for classification. The small-scale effects on the mechanical responses of micro-rotating disks with angular acceleration are investigated based on the strain gradient theory, as one of the powerful non-classical continuum theories which have been developed to justify the empirical observations of mechanical behavior in small-scale structures and components.
