NURA: A framework for supporting non-uniform resource accesses in GPUs

Abstract
Multi-application execution in Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), a promising way to utilize GPU resources, is still challenging. Some pieces of prior work (e.g. spatial multitasking) have limited opportunity to improve resource utilization, while others, e.g. simultaneous multi-kernel, provide fine-grained resource sharing at the price of unfair execution. This paper proposes a new multi-application paradigm for GPUs, called NURA, that provides high potential to improve resource utilization and ensure fairness and Quality-of-Service(QoS). Abstract
Photocatalytic reduction of p-nitrochlorobenzene was studied over aluminosilicate-based AgBr and AgBr-TiO2 photocatalysts which were prepared and characterized. The photoreaction was performed in the presence of LiBH4, which is a strong reducing agent, in the solution medium. A new mechanism is proposed for reduction of p-nitrochlorobenzene under photocatalytic conditions. The effect of pH, illumination source, LiBH 4 concentration, temperature, catalyst dosage, and alcoholic scavengers was also studied. Abstract
The existence of a short C-H⋯π (alkyl-alkyne) interaction in the structure of a strained and relatively rigid tolanophane is expected to hinder the rotation about the C-C sp3 single bond. Variable-temperature NMR experiments (performed in three solvents, CDCl3, THF-d8, and acetone-d6) and ab initio density functional calculations were carried out to investigate its dynamic nature. An energy barrier of 48.6 kJ/mol is determined at coalescence (210 K) with acetone-d6 which is in good agreement with calculation result (54 kJ/mol). © 2008 Springer-Verlag

Molecular dynamics simulation method was employed to model mode I crack propagation in plates containing nanoscale clusters of impurities located in the vicinity of the crack tip. The plates and the clusters were considered to have an fcc structure. In this study, the robust sliding mode attitude control of a tethered satellite system using optimal tether offset in the presence of perturbations and uncertainties is investigated. In this paper, the effect of two-dimensional electron plasma formed on the surface of a semiconductor on the refraction phase of an optical beam is investigated. Both the density and effective mass of the surface state electrons can be controlled by a transverse electric field. While the surface density of electrons varies slowly with the applied field, their effective mass changes instantaneously. Therefore, a high bandwidth for the phase modulation can be obtained.
