Forecasting P/E Ratio Using Neural Networks
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; ahramgiri, Mohsen (Supervisor)
Abstract
This thesis firstly studies the parameters affecting P/E ratio. These parameters vary from Macroeconomics level, Economic growth and Inflation, to company level. Then this study deploys Neural Networks to predict magnitude of P/E and change direction of P/E ratio. To increase accuracy, thesis uses three different method of normalizing for Input data. Finally, results are compared to results of regression method
Scheduling Trucks at Cross-Docking System of a Supply Chain
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Akbari Jokar, Mohammad Reza (Supervisor)
Abstract
Cross-docking is an innovative logistic strategy which brings significant advantages in-cluding little or no inventory in the warehouse. In this concept, coordination between in-bound and outbound trucks is quite important. This research studies the scheduling prob-lem of inbound and outbound trucks considering a cross-dock system with multiple receiv-ing and shipping dock doors. Moreover, due to justifiability of all trucks to carry multiple product types, product assignment from inbound trucks to outbound trucks is determined simultaneous to scheduling. As an exact solution approach a MIP model is presented and since the problem is shown to be NP-hard, it can only be used to solve small...
Dynamic Simulation of Heart Mitral Valve
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Zohoor, Hassan (Supervisor) ; Sohrabpoor, Saeeid (Supervisor)
Abstract
Two methods for simulating material behavior of heart mitral valve leaflet tissue are developed in this thesis, in the finite element setting. First, a mixed pressure-displacement formulation is used to implement the constitutive material behavior with general 3D elements. Second, a shell is formulated that incorporates the 3D material behavior by use of a local plane stress iteration method. Both of these works are based on an existing invariant-based strain energy function that has been experimentally determined for the mitral valve leaflet tissue. Since this material is considered to be nearly incompressible, a mixed pressure-displacement (u/p) formulation is needed to apply the material...
