, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Dashti Rahmat Abadi, Mohammad (Author) ; Habibi, Jafar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
The architecture of a software system, its elements and the way they interact is a valuable treasure for understanding the system. If architecture description of a system is not available, working on its extraction and reconstruction should be done. For a software with huge size and vast complexity, architecture extraction by hand and without any predefined method is nearly impossible. So, it is essential for software architecture extractor to use a framework and a well-defined process related to it, for extracting the software architecture. It can help him to use automated tools as much as possible in addition to havingauniquelogicalstructureforperformingthearchitectureextractionprocess. In...

Probabilistic Evaluation of Steel Moment Frames with Partially Restrained Connections

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Zarei Rahmat Abadi, Davood (Author) ; Kazemi, Mohammad Taghi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Considering connections as ideally rigid or pinned is a common assumption during design and analysis of steel moment frames. However, in real world, steel connections show a non-linear behavior between these two ideal states. The aim of this research is to investigate the effect of partially restrained connections on the design and performance of two-dimensional steel moment frames under vertical and horizontal loads that are applied statically. For this aim, nonlinear finite element modeling is used in probabilistic evaluation process to assess the performance of existing structures. To capture the real behavior of structure in models, geometric and material sources of nonlinearity are...

    Abstract
Kinetic and morphological aspects of slurry propylene polymerization using a MgCl2-supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst synthesized from a Mg(OEt)2 precursor in the presence and absence of two different external donors are investigated. The kinetic profiles show similar trend in presence and absence of donors. The Mg(OEt)2-based catalyst show a mild activation and a long-standing activity with good replication of the catalyst particles. The results show that synthesized Mg(OEt)2-based Ziegler-Natta catalyst presents a highly stable polymerization activity and good replication due to the uniform Ti distribution all over the catalyst particles. © 2009 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. Investigating Effects of Urban Freight Companies' Scale on their Transport Efficiency and Developing a Tool for Integration of Freight Companies

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Dashti, Mohammad Mahdi (Author) ; Samimi, Amir (Supervisor) ; Kermanshah, Amir Hassan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this research, a dashboard has been developed to support decision-making in the integration of freight companies. Freight companies usually consist of a limited number of vehicles due to the high cost of vehicles, while the fixed costs of a freight company constitute a significant part of that company's total cost. Therefore, if these companies are merged, their total cost will be substantially decreased. Moreover, under particular demand levels, the integration of freight companies reduces the mileage, travel time, and the number of required cars. Therefore, the integration of freight companies not only reduces fixed costs but also reduces other costs including greenhouse gas costs by...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Dashti, Ali (Author) ; Zahedi, Edmond (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this thesis, a cellular model of electroporation process and its detection by ultrasound signals is proposed. Electroporation is permeabilization of the cell membrane, caused by an external electric field. The resulted pores open cell’s membrane to large or hydrophilic molecules. The process of Electroporation has been used in Gene therapy and treatment of solid tumors. In this project, first we made a phantom of electroporated tissue and a phantom of normal tissue and then we simulated their responses to a linear array ultrasound transducer. By comparision of received signals from phantoms the probable effect of electroporation on ultrasound RF signals revealed. Results show up to 5 %...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Davood Abadi Farahani, Mohammad Hossein (Author) ; Borghei, Mehdi (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Petrochemicals, refineries and power plants are among the biggest water-consuming industries. Of all systems in mentioned complex, most water is consumed in the cooling tower system, of which the feed water of the cooling tower accounts for the largest portion of water demand. Drainage loss (blowdown) which constitutes the biggest portion of the feed water losses, varies greatly with changes in source water quality and cooling water treatment. Scarcity of water, large quantities of cooling tower blowdown water and increasing of water price lead to activities for blowdown water treatment to reuse. In this project two pre-treatment methods and two final membrane treatment methods were...
