    Abstract
    1-(2-Hydroxyethyl)-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ionic liquid ([hemim][NTf2]) was synthesized as a new functionalized ionic liquid to study the effect of addition of the hydroxyl group to the imidazolium cation on aliphatic/aromatic separations. For this purpose, liquid-liquid equilibrium (LLE) data for {heptane + toluene or benzene + 1-(2-hydroxyethyl)-3-methylimidazolium bis (trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide ([hemim][NTf2])} systems were measured at 313.2 K and atmospheric pressure.     Regarding the increasing number of electrical devices in the smart homes that leads to increase in total electricity consumption and cost, it is essential to use energy management methods to reduce the electricity cost. However, this can cause resident's dissatisfaction. Hence, it is important to define a method in which cost and dissatisfaction be optimized simultaneously. Among different services, an electric vehicle is the one that can be used as an energy storage system, so it can reduce the daily cost despite of increasing the total energy consumption.     In this paper, a new linear theory for bending stress-strain analysis of a cracked beam has been developed. A displacement field has been suggested for the beam strain and stress calculations. The bending differential equation for the beam has been written using equilibrium equations. The required constant for this model is also obtained from fracture mechanics.     In this paper the equation of motion and corresponding boundary conditions has been developed for forced bending vibration analysis of a beam with an open edge crack. A uniform Euler-Bernoulli beam and the Hamilton principle have been used in this research. The natural frequencies and the forced response of this beam have been obtained using the new developed model in conjunction with the Galerkin projection method. The crack has been modeled as a continuous disturbance function in displacement filed which could be obtained from fracture mechanics.     Novel type of two-impinging-jets loop reactor (TIJLR) has been proposed and tested successfully for the solid-liquid catalytic reactions. The TIJLR was tested using the catalytic reaction of isomerization of D-glucose to D-fructose by immobilized glucose isomerase catalyst as a typical model system of solid-liquid catalytic reactions.     Based on the quasi-adiabatic model, the parameters of the bubble interior for a moving single bubble sonoluminescence in water, adiponitrile, and N-methylformamide are calculated for various fluid viscosities. By using a complete form of the hydrodynamic force, the bubble trajectory is calculated for a moving single bubble sonoluminescence (m-SBSL). It is found that as the fluid viscosity increases, the unique circular path changes to an ellipsoidal and then linear form and along this incrementally increase of viscosity the light intensity increases.     SnO2 is an important functional material having a wide range of applications in gas sensors and optoelectronic devices. There is a great interest for finding new cost-effective and straight-forward methods for production of these particles. In this research, hydrogel thermal decomposition method (HTDM) is used for production of high purity SnO2 nano-particles. Cost effective reactants and green routs of production are the advantages of polysaccharide based hydrogel as starting material for this method.     Abstract
    A complete study of the hydrodynamic force on a moving single bubble sonoluminescence in N-methylformamide is presented in this work. All forces exerted, trajectory, interior temperature and gas pressure are discussed. The maximum values of the calculated components of the hydrodynamic force for three different radii at the same driving pressure were compared, while the optimum bubble radius was determined. The maximum value of the buoyancy force appears at the start of bubble collapse, earlier than the other forces whose maximum values appear at the moment of bubble collapse. We verified that for radii larger than the optimum radius, the temperature peak value decreases

    The mutual interaction of two oscillating gas bubbles in different concentrations of sulfuric acid is numerically investigated. A nonlinear oscillation for spherical symmetric bubbles with equilibrium radii smaller than 10 μm at a frequency of 37 kHz in a strong driving acoustical field Pa =1.8 bar is assumed.     Abstract
    Transient heat-up of a solid propellant rocket structure during motor burning time is studied, numerically. The solid phase energy equation coupled with unsteady compressible flow equations are used in this simulation. The flow-field equations are discretized and solved using upwind Roe's scheme. The results show that heat transfer from the gas phase boundaries has negligible effect on internal ballistics behavior. On the other hand, the results are suitable for a thermal stresses analysis in the chamber case and are consequently valuable from structural design viewpoints

    Abstract
    In this research, a phase-field model was developed to investigate the retrogression process in 7075 aluminum alloy sheets. The model predicts the kinetic of metastable η' phase dissolution during retrogression treatment at a prescribed temperature. The input parameters of the model are achieved from experimental and molecular dynamics investigations. To validate the model, the average diameter and size distribution of η' precipitates attained from the developed phase-field model were compared with those measured from transmission electron microscopy examinations.
