Abstract
To generalize simple bead-linker model of swimmers to higher dimensions and to demonstrate the chemotaxis ability of such swimmers, here we introduce a low-Reynolds predator, using a two-dimensional triangular bead-spring model. Two-state linkers as mechanochemical enzymes expand as a result of interaction with particular activator substances in the environment, causing the whole body to translate and rotate. The concentration of the chemical stimulator controls expansion versus the contraction rate of each arm and so affects the ability of the body for diffusive movements; also the variation of activator substance's concentration in the environment breaks the symmetry of linkers' preferred...

Abstract
A numerical model is developed for investigation of coupled dynamics of fuel contained elastic launch vehicles in planar atmospheric flight. Finite element method along with the linear quasi-steady piston aerodynamic theory is used for developing an aeroelastic model. A reduced order boundary element model is used for modeling the liquid sloshing in tanks. The interaction of sloshing and aeroelasticity is studied using stability analysis of the coupled system. Results show that the slosh-aeroelastic coupling in an elastic launch vehicle occurs for low tank filling ratios and may lead to decreasing the system damping. Due to more interactions between the slosh and rigid body modes, larger...

Abstract
An analytical solution for obtaining steady-state eddy-current-based force on a levitated permanent magnet above a plate with linear conductivity in the field of an electromagnet having cylindrical symmetry is presented in this paper. In literature, the force due to eddy current in this levitation system have been used for high precision positioning of a levitated permanent magnet without providing an explicit analytical model. In this system, a change in the coil's current and also the motion of the levitated permanent magnet in 3-D space generate eddy current in the plate. A novel explicit solution for obtaining damping forces due to these eddy currents is obtained as a function of...

Abstract
Double-inlet pulse tube refrigerators are one of the most common types of cryocoolers. There are several advantages of double-inlet pulse tube refrigerators, such as not having moving parts, reliability, and long life. Double-inlet pulse tube refrigerators have been used in several applications such as cooling the semiconductors, infrared sensors, and astronomical detectors. In the recent decade, several research efforts have been performed to investigate double-inlet pulse tube refrigerators. Generally, most of them are experimental or numerical, and the recent literature survey shows there is not an analytical solution for the complete system of a double-inlet pulse tube refrigerator,...

Abstract
Microalgae's biomass productivity and oil content depend heavily on the method of its cultivation. In this study, nutrient removal from municipal wastewater by Chlorella vulgaris in batch culture was investigated. Carbon dioxide was supplied from sodium hydrogen carbonate. Effect of parameters including light intensity, sodium hydrogen carbonate concentration, and daily illumination time on the productivity of biomass and lipid was investigated. Lipid and biomass production of C.vulgaris increased at higher concentration of sodium hydrogen carbonate concentration and higher light intensity until a certain value and then decreased, but longer daily illumination time, increased both biomass...

Abstract
This study presents a method to determine an equivalent mechanical model (EMM) for multi-baffled containers with arbitrary geometries. The method is implemented for 2D and axisymmetric containers. The Laplace equation and Green's theorem are used to develop the fluid model and the boundary element method (BEM) is used to solve the fluid field governing equation. Moreover, a zoning method is utilized to model arbitrary arrangements of baffles in multi-baffled containers and a reduced order model is developed to model the free-surface sloshing. The exerted hydrodynamic pressure distribution, forces and moments on the walls of the container are determined based on the Bernoulli equation and a...

Abstract
This study presents a developed successive Boundary Element Method to determine the symmetric and antisymmetric sloshing natural frequencies and mode shapes for multi baffled axisymmetric containers with arbitrary geometries. The developed fluid model is based on the Laplace equation and Green's theorem. The governing equations of fluid dynamic and free surface boundary condition are also applied to proposed model. A zoning method is presented to model arbitrary arrangement of baffles in multi baffled axisymmetric tanks. The influence of each zone on neighboring zones is applied by introducing interface influence matrix which correlates the velocity potential of interfaces to their flux. By...

Abstract
The free vibrations analysis of liquid sloshing is carried out for arbitrary axisymmetric containers under low-gravity condition using boundary element method. A potential flow theory is used to model the flow field and the free-surface Laplace-Young equation is used to model the surface tension effect. The obtained governing equations are solved using eigenanalysis techniques to determine the natural frequencies and mode shapes of the sloshing liquid. The results for a circular cylindrical container are compared to the analytical values and very good agreement is achieved for the slipping and anchored contact line assumptions. Furthermore, some baffled containers are also analysed and the...

Abstract
Let D be a finite-dimensional F-central division algebra. A criterion is given for D to be a supersoluble (nilpotent) crossed product division algebra in terms of subgroups of the multiplicative group D* of D. More precisely, it is shown that D is a supersoluble (nilpotent) crossed product if and only if D* contains an abelian-by-supersoluble (abelian-by-nilpotent) generating subgroup

Abstract
In this work, the effect of the accumulative roll bonding (ARB) process on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and corrosion characteristics of AZ31 Mg alloy was investigated. First, the ARB process up to 3 cycles at 350 °C was applied to annealed AZ31 Mg alloy sheets. Then, all samples were characterized via microstructure observations, mechanical investigations, and also, electrochemical analyses, and immersion tests in simulated body fluid (SBF) solution. In addition, the L929 cell line was used to evaluate the cytotoxicity of the samples. The obtained results showed that after the third ARB cycle, the average grain size in the annealed sample decreased from ~ 14 to ~ 3 µm. Some...

Abstract
Jacket-type offshore platforms play an important role in oil and gas industries in shallow and intermediate water depths such as Persian Gulf region. Such important structures need accurate considerations in analysis, design and assessment procedures. In this paper, nonlinear response of jacket-type platforms against extreme waves is examined utilizing sensitivity analyses. Results of this paper can reduce the number of random variables and consequently the computational effort in reliability analysis of jacket platforms, noticeably. Effects of foundation modeling have been neglected in majority of researches on the response of jacket platforms against wave loads. As nonlinear response of...

Abstract
We revisit the question of what mechanism is responsible for the spins of halos of dark matter. The answer to this question is of high importance for modeling galaxy intrinsic alignment, which can potentially contaminate current and future lensing data. In particular, we show that when the dark matter halos pass nearly each other in dense environments - namely halo assemblies - they swing and spin each other via exerting mutual tidal torques. We show that this has a significant contribution to the spin of dark matter halos comparable to that calculated by the so-called tidal torque theory. We use the results of the state-of-the-art simulation of Illutris to check the prediction of this...
Spin alignment of dark matter halos: Fast halos

Abstract
We investigate the spin alignment of dark matter halos by considering a mechanism somewhat similar to tidal locking; we dub it tidal-locking theory (TLT). While tidal torque theory (TTT) is responsible for the initial angular momentum of dark matter halos, TLT explains the angular momentum evolution during nonlinear ages. Our previous work showed that close encounters between halos could drastically change their angular momentum. This paper argues that TLT predicts partial alignment between the speed and spin direction for large high-speed halos. To examine this prediction, we use IllustrisTNG simulations and look for the alignment of the halos' rotation axes. We find that the excess...

Abstract
This work suggests a green method for synthesizing Au nanoparticles (AuNPs) using the aqueous extract of Salix aegyptiaca extract. The mechanism of green synthesized AuNPs was examined by molecular electrostatic potential (MEP) calculations. AuNPs were characterized with different techniques such as Ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy (UV–vis), Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction (XRD), and Transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Electrochemical investigation of modified glassy carbon electrode using AuNPs (AuNPs/GCE) shows that the electronic transmission rate between the modified electrode and [Fe (CN)6]3−/4− increased. Process of oxidation, energy...

Abstract
In this study, friction stir soldering (FSS) as an emerging joining process with the aid of a preliminary electroplating process was utilized for the first time to fabricate graphite-copper lap joints aimed at investigation of rotational speed influence on joint interface microstructure and mechanical behaviour. To do so, an Sn-37Pb solder foil was placed between a copper sheet and a copper-coated graphite substrate after which a rotating pin-free tool was plunged into the copper sheet and allowed to travel along the joint. Results indicated that adhesive strength between the electroplated copper coating and graphite substrate was strongly affected by surface roughness and plating current...
The Interest Rate of “Transactional Loans” and Average Productivity of Capital in Iran’s Economy
, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Madanizadeh, Ali (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this research, I propose a macro-finance model with asymmetric information between firms and banks to investigate the capital misallocation effect of government interventions in financial markets of Iran’s economy, in terms of setting the price of “Transactional Loans”. In the presence of adverse selection, interest rate may be an instrument for screening lowproductive firms; however, the moral hazard problem of low productive firms with voluntary default, cancels out the filtering mechanism in high interest rates, if the cost of default for low-productive firms is low and judicial systems are poor in enforcing contracts. Hence, government repression/regulation policies do not affect the...

Abstract
In this study, ZnO-Red Ochre nanocomposite was green synthesized by Rosa Damascena (RD) extract (RDZRONCs). Proton Induced X-ray Emission microanalysis (Micro-PIXE) and X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern confirmed the presence of hematite (Fe2O3), and quartz (SiO2) mineral phases in the Red Ochre (RO) nanoclay. In addition, the XRD pattern shows the ZnO, ZnFe2O4, SiO2, Fe2O3, and Si phases in the RDZRONCs that were green synthesized with natural RD extract and RO. The RDZRONCs were used to modify the carbon paste electrode (CPE) for the electrochemical determination of the anticancer drug 5-fluorouracil (5-FU). Cyclic voltammetry (CV) and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques...

Let D be a finite dimensional F-central division algebra and G an irreducible subgroup of D*: = GL1(D). Here we investigate the structure of D under various group identities on G. In particular, it is shown that when [D : F] = p2, p a prime, then D is cyclic if and only if D* contains a nonabelian subgroup satisfying a group identity
