Isolated Word Recognition (IWR) is becoming increasingly attractive due to the improvement of speech recognition techniques. However, the accuracy of IWR suffers when large databases or words with similar pronunciation are used. The criterion for accurate speech recognition is suitable segmentation. Blind Source Separation (BSS) is the problem of separating signals which are mixed through an unknown function from a number of observations, without any information about the mixing model. Although it has been mathematically proven that the separation can be done when the mixture is linear, there is not any proof for the separability of nonlinearly mixed signals. Our contribution in this paper is performing nonlinear BSS for sparse sources. In this paper, a proof is provided to show that Gaussian signals will lose their Gaussianity if they are passed through a polynomial of an order greater than 1. This can help in blind compensation of polynomial nonlinearities on Gaussian sources by forcing the output to follow a Gaussian distribution (the term 'blind' refers to lack of any prior information about the nonlinear function). Abstract
In this paper, a novel approach for performing blind source separation (BSS) in nonlinear mixtures is proposed, and their separability is studied. It is shown that this problem can be solved under a few assumptions, which are satisfied in most practical applications. The main idea can be considered as transforming a time-invariant nonlinear BSS problem to local linear ones varying along the time, using the derivatives of both sources and observations. Abstract
YBaCu2O5 compound as one of the possible microstructures of Y3Ba5Cu8O19 has been synthesized. The X-ray diffraction analysis of this compound indicates that its formation is accompanied with the formation of YBa2Cu3O7-δ. The observed superconductivity around ∼92 K supports this. So, it seems that YBa2Cu3O7-δ is responsible for the observed superconductivity in YBaCu2O5, and this phase is not an independent superconducting phase. Consequently, the overall effect of the YBaCu2O5 formation during the Y3Ba5Cu8O19 fabrication process could be a reduction in Tc. © 2018 Elsevier B.V

The boundary layer integral method is used to investigate the development of the turbulent swirling flow at the entrance region of a conical nozzle. The governing equations in the spherical coordinate system are simplified with the boundary layer assumptions and integrated through the boundary layer. The resulting sets of differential equations are then solved by the fourth-order Adams predictor-corrector method. The governing equations of two-dimensional steady density currents are solved numerically using a finite volume method. The v2̄-f turbulence model, based on standard k - s model, is used for the turbulence closure. In this method, all Reynolds stress equations are replaced with both a transport equation for v2̄ and an elliptic relaxation equation for f, a parameter closely related to the pressure strain redistribution term. In this paper, an analytical solution for steady creeping motion of viscoelastic drop falling through a viscous Newtonian fluid is presented. The Oldroyd-B model is used as the constitutive equation. The analytical solutions for both interior and exterior flows are obtained using the perturbation method. Deborah number and capillary numbers are considered as the perturbation parameters. In this paper, creeping motion of a viscoelastic drop falling through a Newtonian fluid is investigated experimentally and analytically. A polymeric solution of 0.08 % xanthan gum in 80:20 glycerol/water and silicon oil is implemented as the viscoelastic drop and the bulk viscous fluids, respectively. In this paper, we consider the problem of minimizing the uplink delays of users in a 5G cellular network. Such cellular network is based on a Cloud Radio Access Network (CRAN) architecture with limited fronthaul capacity, where our goal is to minimize delays of all users through an optimal resource allocation. Earlier works minimize average delay of each user assuming same transmit power for all users.
