    Interpreting neural network classifiers using gradient-based saliency maps has been extensively studied in the deep learning literature. While the existing algorithms manage to achieve satisfactory performance in application to standard image recognition datasets, recent works demonstrate the vulnerability of widely-used gradient-based interpretation schemes to norm-bounded perturbations adversarially designed for every individual input sample.     In this study, three Vis/NIR handheld spectrometers coupled with four machine learning methods were developed for the analysis of the authentic bovine milk samples and adulterated samples with hydrogen peroxide and sodium hypochlorite.     Abstract
    In this paper, the effect of blade number on the vibration behavior of industrial fans has been studied experimentally and numerically. Two similar industrial fans with similar specifications and only different blade numbers were chosen in a plant. The vibration levels were measured on these fans and the results revealed that the blade passage phenomenon is the main cause of vibrations on both fans. Both fans and their structures were modeled numerically and the performance characteristics, vibratory forces and vibration response of structure were calculated.     Vivid banding pattern of the chromosome image is a crucial part for diagnosis in karyotype medical test. Furthermore, thriving computer aided segmentation and classification depend on the initial image quality. In this paper, we propose an adaptive and iterative histogram matching algorithm for chromosome contrast enhancement especially in banding patterns which is one of the most important information laid in chromosome image.     Vivid banding patterns in medical images of chromosomes are a vital feature for karyotyping and chromosome classification. The chromosome image quality may be degraded by many phenomenon such as staining, sample defectness and imaging conditions.     The objective of the present contribution is to use a portable near infrared (NIR) spectrometer (in spectral range of 900–1700 nm) as a rapid, facile, and nondestructive technique in combination with ensemble methods, for detection of water in bovine milk samples in concentration range 1% to 30% (v/v).     In this paper, the problem of routing, modulation level, core, and spectrum assignment (RMCSA) in space-division-multiplexed elastic optical networks (SDM-EONs) is studied. We formulate this problem as a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP), in which dedicated and shared path protection schemes are supported in SDM-EONs with multi-core fibers (MCFs) and the inter-core crosstalk of MCFs is strictly modeled. Furthermore, an efficient heuristic algorithm is proposed to solve the RMCSA problem in a large scale scenario.     In the current study, hydrogen fluoride (HF) adsorption onto the sodium fluoride pellets is modeled. For this purpose a two-dimensional, non-isothermal model was developed and the governing equations were solved numerically. The contributions of diffusion transport in axial and radial directions also were considered in mathematical formulations. The model results of effluent concentration and breakthrough curves of HF were compared with the experimental data obtained in a lab-scale adsorption unit, reported in our previous work [1].     In uranium conversion industry, the fluorine is used as chemical raw material gas to produce UF4 and UF6 while its purity is very important. In this study, the adsorption process of hydrogen fluoride, as an impurity in the process of fluorine production, on sodium fluoride pellets is experimentally studied in a lab-scale fixed bed adsorbent.     In this research, the effect of different amounts of Cr2O3 (2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10 wt.%) and sintering temperature (1850, 1900, and 1950 °C) on the sinterability and mechanical properties of liquid-phase sintered SiC-matrix composites was studied. First, raw materials were ground for 3 h using a planetary mill whose rotational speed was 180 rpm. The process of pressing the samples was completed using uniaxial pressing with the applied pressure of 90 MPa. Finally, the samples were sintered under an argon atmosphere at various temperatures for 1.5 h. In the end, the best sintered sample was annealed at 2000°C for 2 h.     The purpose of this study is to determine a function which estimate fuel/air equivalence ratio distribution inside combustion chamber of spark ignition engine for pollution minimization and maximum efficiency. To do this, we developed a code by which, we are able to model one SI engine cycle.
    Seven distributions for fuel/air equivalence ratio were examined which include: Homogeneous, linearly decreasing, linearly increasing, sinusoidal increasing and decreasing, sinusoidal decreasing and increasing, cosinusodal decreasing, and cosinusodal increasing.
