Abstract
Cyber-physical systems contain networked embedded systems. Such systems may implement cryptographic algorithms for processing and/or communication. Therefore, they can be prone to side-channel attacks. Differential power analysis is one of such attacks, which is considered among the most serious threats against cryptographic devices. Various metrics have been proposed to evaluate the resistance of different implementations against these attacks. Some of these metrics need side-channel attacks to be conducted and depend on the considered power model. Due to the vast variety of proposed side-channel attacks and power models, comprehensively evaluating a design under these metrics is commonly...

Abstract
Isogeny-based cryptography is one of the promising post-quantum candidates mainly because of its smaller public key length. Due to its high computational cost, efficient implementations are significantly important. In this paper, we have proposed a high-speed FPGA implementation of the supersingular isogeny Diffie-Hellman (SIDH) and key encapsulation (SIKE). To this end, we have adapted the algorithm of finding optimal large-degree isogeny computation strategy for hardware implementations. Using this algorithm, hardware-suited strategies (HSSs) can be devised. We have also developed a tool to schedule field arithmetic operations efficiently using constraint programming. This tool enables...

Abstract
We present a pipelined Montgomery multiplier tailored for SIKE primes. The latency of this multiplier is far shorter than that of the previous work while its frequency competes with the highest-rated ones. The implementation results on a Virtex-7 FPGA show that this multiplier improves the time, the area-time product (AT), and the throughput of computing modular multiplication by at least 2.30, 1.60, and 1.36 times over SIKE primes respectively. We have also developed a CPU-like architecture to perform SIDH and SIKE using several instances of our modular multiplier. Using four multipliers on a Virtex-7 FPGA, the encapsulation and the decapsulation of SIKE can be performed at least 1.45 times...

Abstract
Public key cryptography lies among the most important bases of security protocols. The classic instances of these cryptosystems are no longer secure when a large-scale quantum computer emerges. These cryptosystems must be replaced by post-quantum ones, such as isogeny-based cryptographic schemes. Supersingular isogeny Diffie-Hellman (SIDH) and key encapsulation (SIKE) are two of the most important such schemes. To improve the performance of these protocols, we have designed several modular multipliers. These multipliers have been implemented for all the prime fields used in SIKE round 3, on a Virtex-7 FPGA, showing a time and area-time product improvement of up to 60.1% and 64.5%,...

Abstract
An important aspect of corrosion prediction for oil/gas wells and pipelines is to obtain a realistic estimate of the corrosion rate. Corrosion rate prediction involves developing a predictive model that utilizes commonly available operational parameters, existing lab/field data, and theoretical models to obtain realistic assessments of corrosion rates. This study presents a new model to predict corrosion rates by using artificial neural network (ANN) systems. The values of pH, velocity, temperature, and partial pressure of the CO2 are input variables of the network and the rate of corrosion has been set as the network output. Among the 718 data sets, 503 of the data were implemented to find...

, Article Macromolecular Research ; January 2005, Volume 13, Issue 1, pp 45-53 ; Aminfazl, M. S ; Hosseinzadeh, H
Abstract
In this study, a series of highly swelling hydrogels based on sodium alginate (NaAlg) and polymethacrylamide (PMAM) was prepared through free radical polymerization. The graft copolymerization reaction was performed in a homogeneous medium and in the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator andN,N′-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker. The crosslinked graft copolymer, alginate-graft-polymethacrylamide (Alg-g-PMAM), was then partially hydrolyzed by NaOH solution to yield a hydrogel, hydrolyzed alginate-graft-polymethacrylamide (H-Alg-g-PMAM). During alkaline hydrolysis, the carboxamide groups of Alg-g-PMAM were converted into hydrophilic carboxylate anions. Either the...

Abstract
The influence of manufacturing parameters such as compacting pressure, heat treatment and microstructure on the static and dynamic properties of Fe-1.75 Ni-1.5 Cu-0.5 Mo-0.6 C was investigated. Wear and fatigue tests were carried out on reciprocate wearing and tension compression mode, respectively. The results show that delamination wear mechanism of sintered steel is similar to that of conventional wrought or cast materials. But, in sintered material, open porosity acts as sites of generation and collection of wear debris or formation of subsurface cracks. Wear rate is decreased and fatigue strength is increased by heat treatment. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All rights reserved
SMART: a scalable mapping and routing technique for power-gating in NoC routers
, Article 2017 11th IEEE/ACM International Symposium on Networks-on-Chip, NOCS 2017, 19 October 2017 through 20 October 2017 ; 2017 ; 9781450349840 (ISBN) ; Kamali, H. M ; Hessabi, S

Abstract
Reducing the size of the technology increases leakage power in Network-on-Chip (NoC) routers drastically. Power-gating, particularly in NoC routers, is one of the most efficient approaches for alleviating the leakage power. Although applying power-gating techniques alleviates NoC power consumption due to high proportion of idleness in NoC routers, since the timing behavior of packets is irregular, even in low injection rates, performance overhead in power-gated routers is significant. In this paper, we present SMART, a Scalable Mapping And Routing Technique, with virtually no area overhead on the network. It improves the irregularity of the timing behavior of packets in order to mitigate...
Minimum control effort trajectory planning and tracking of the CEDRA brachiation robot [electronic resource]
, Article Robotica ; Robotica / Volume 31 / Issue 07 / October 2013, pp 1119-1129 ; Lavasan, S. M. H ; Norouz, M ; Rahimi Mousavi, M. S ; Sharif University of Technology
Abstract
The control of a brachiation robot has been the primary objective of this study. A brachiating robot is a type of a mobile arm that is capable of moving from branch to branch similar to a long-armed ape. In this paper, to minimize the actuator work, Pontryagin's minimum principle was used to obtain the optimal trajectories for two different problems. The first problem considers “brachiation between fixed branches with different distance and height,” whereas the second problem deals with the “brachiating and catching of a moving target branch”. Theoretical results show that the control effort in the proposed method is reduced by 25% in comparison with the “target dynamics” method which was...

Abstract
In a MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) radar system, proper design of transmit signal and receive filter is an advantageous tool to improve the detection performance. Thus, in this paper, we consider the problem of transmit code and receive filter design, in order to maximize the Signal to Noise Ratio (SNR) at the receiver while enforcing a similarity constraint between the transmit space-time code (STC) and a reference STC which has a desirable ambiguity function. We will show that by solving such constrained optimization problem through successive iterations, our proposed method leads to satisfactory results

Abstract
Most of the publications regarding the maxim covering location problem (MCLP) address the case where the decision is to be made for one period. In this paper, we deal with a rather untouched version of MCLP which is called dynamic MCLP (DMCLP). In order to solve this problem, a simulated annealing (SA) has been presented. The proposed solution algorithm is capable of solving problems with up to 2500 demand nodes and 200 potential facilities with a fair amount of exactness. Our experiments showed that the proposed approach finds solutions with errors less than one percent

Abstract
The effect of the asymmetric water entry over a submerged part of a ship on the hydrodynamic impact is investigated numerically. A wedge body is considered and the problem is assumed to be two-dimensional. The results of symmetric and asymmetric impacts are compared. The effect is found significant in the numerical simulation. The maximum hydro-dynamic pressure at a heel angle of 10 degrees becomes about 95% more than that of the symmetric entry. The result of the present work proves the importance of asymmetrical hydrodynamic impact loading for structural design of a ship. Besides, the numerical procedure is not limited to a wedge type cross section and it is possible to apply it for any...
