In the present thesis, the adsorption ability of the functionalized magnetic nano-particles supported on the walnut and almond based activated carbons was evaluated to prepare the efficient and low cost adsorbents for removal of Pb(II), Cr(VI) and Hg(II) ions aqueous solutions in the presence of salinity. Magnetorheological fluids are suspensions of magnetic solid particles suspended in a nonmagnetic matrix fluid. By imposing an external magnetic field, particles are arranged in microstructures aligned with the external field and hence, dramatically affect the fluid flow. In this regard, the data for each of these variables was used at the county level in the United States of America between 2000 and 2011. In this study, we aim to learn representations from microscopic cell images that effectively capture the features of drugs affecting the cells, allowing us to identify effective drugs for treating a disease. We employ two parallel learning paths using predictive and generative models. Co-movement between inflation and nominal interest in response to an interest rate shock, dubbed neo-fisherianism, has been the subject of contentious debate since the advent of non-inflationary ZLB environment. We design an economic model rich with banking features to understand the economic responses to permanent and long-term interest rate shocks. We find that responses to a permanent positive interest rate shock depend on the monetary authorities’ speculation of the new long-term inflation rate, with the most probable outcome being a permanent increase in inflation. A modified weakly compressible smoothed particle hydrodynamics (WCSPH) is presented, which utilizes consistent discretization schemes for spatial derivatives in the flow equations. Here, each SPH particle is considered as a computational point that represents a specific part of the fluid. Several schemes for discretization of first and second derivatives are available in Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH). Here, four schemes for approximation of the first derivative and three schemes for the second derivative are examined using a theoretical analysis based on Taylor series expansion both for regular and irregular particle distributions. Estimation of terms in the truncation errors shows that only the renormalized (the first-order consistent) scheme has acceptable convergence properties to approximate the first derivative. Weakly Compressible Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (WCSPH) can lead to non-physical oscillations in the pressure and density fields when simulating incompressible flow problems. This in turn may result in tensile instability and sometimes divergence.
