    To ensure stable and optimal operation of lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), it is necessary to use a management system for online monitoring and accurate estimation of battery State of Charge (SOC). Due to LIBs' complex dynamics and effective factors such as temperature and side reactions, battery SOC estimation has become one of the greatest challenges for experts in the field.     Few-shot learning methods have achieved notable performance in recent years. However, fewshot learning in large-scale settings with hundreds of classes is still challenging. In this dissertation, we tackle the problems of large-scale few-shot learning by taking advantage of pre-trained foundation models. We recast the original problem in two levels with different granularity. At the coarse-grained level, we introduce a novel object recognition approach with robustness to sub-population shifts.     A single-step green method for effective reduction and functionalization of graphene oxide (GO) by glucose was developed. Then, efficacy of the glucose-reduced GO sheets in photothermal therapy of LNCaP prostate cancer cells was investigated in vitro. The GO suspension reduced and functionalized by glucose in the presence of Fe catalyst showed a biocompatible property with an excellent near-infrared (NIR) photothermal therapy efficiency better than hydrazine-reduced GO, single-wall and multi-wall carbon nanotube suspensions which even showed some levels of toxicities.     In this study, we have utilized 3-D micro-tomography images of real and synthetic rocks to introduce two mathematical correlations which estimate the distribution parameters of 3-D coordination number using a single 2-D cross-sectional image. By applying a watershed segmentation algorithm, it is found that the distribution of 3-D coordination number is acceptably predictable by statistical analysis of the network extracted from 2-D images.     We study numerically the statistics of curves which form the boundaries of toppling wave clusters in the deterministic Bak, Tang and Wiesenfeld sandpile model and stochastic Manna model on a square lattice.     Abstract
    Appreciation of stochastic Loewner evolution (SLEκ), as a powerful tool to check for conformal invariant properties of geometrical features of critical systems has been rising. In this paper we use this method to check conformal invariance in sandpile models. Avalanche frontiers in Abelian sandpile model are numerically shown to be conformally invariant and can be described by SLE with diffusivity κ=2. This value is the same as value obtained for loop-erased random walks. The fractal dimension and Schramm's formula for left passage probability also suggest the same result.
