Trajectory Optimization of Micromechanical Flying Insect

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Firouzbakht, Shahriar (Author) ; Banazadeh, Afshin (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In this work, A new hybrid approach is presented to optimize a trajectory of Micromechanical Flying Insect in an obstacle reach environment. Here, a singleobjective Evolutionary Algorithm is utilize for finding solutions corresponding to multiple conflicting goals, which include minimizing the length of the path while maximizing safety margin by avoiding hard and non-moving obstacles. On the other hand, dynamic constraints of Micromechanical Insect such as maximum and minimum attitude angles and speed should be taken into account. In order to reduce the computational cost, a novel hybrid two-layer procedure is suggested for trajectory optimization. In the first layer, the algorithm generates...

Investigation of Adsorption on Mixed Adsorbents

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Firouzbakht, Behnaz (Author) ; Safe Kordi, Ali Akbar (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Adsorption of acetone vapors on mixture of silica gel and activated carbon was studied. Adsorption is defined as the attraction adsorbate (liquid or gas) particles onto the surface of a solid (porous solid). Most of the experimental works are adsorption of a one or more component on an adsorbent. Presence of two or more adsorbents together may effect on adsorption rate, uptake and thermodynamic conditions. When we have limitation in using a kind of adsorbent, these results can be helpful. There are several motivating reasons for the study of adsorption on adsorbent mixtures. During the adsorbent manufacturing process, multiple batches may differ slightly from each other(and from the customer...

Developing a mathematical model for the complete kinetic cycle of direct synthesis of DME from Syngas through the CFD technique

    Abstract
It is well known that the direct synthesis of Di-Methyl Ether (DME) from the Syngas is highly exothermic; therefore, the temperature control for its production and hence a suitable heat transfer pattern is of ought most significance to the success of such process. As such, slurry bubble column reactor is recognized to be a more suitable means for this purpose than other choices including fixed bed reactor which is the usual type of system in which direct DME synthesis takes place. In other words, slurry reactors are desirable due to having suitable heat and mass transfer properties. In this research a mathematical model for direct synthesis of DME from synthesis gas in a slurry reactor for a...

Investigation of the Synergism Between Engineered Stem Cells with Vtk Containing Construct and Electrical Stimulation in Osteogenic Differentiation

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Gharaei, Mohammad Saleh (Author) ; Alemzadeh, Iran (Supervisor) ; Bakhshandeh, Behnaz (Supervisor) ; Saadatmand, Maryam (Co-Supervisor)
    Abstract
In recent years, advances in medical science and increasing the level of healthcare have increased the life expectancy index; But in the meantime, a phenomenon called “diseases related to life expectancy” has appeared. Bone and skeletal diseases have a significant share in this category because the passage of time reduces bone mineral density and this is the source of many diseases, including osteoporosis. Current bone therapies, which include autologous and allogeneic bone grafts, will not meet this high need. Bone tissue engineering has been proposed as a potential alternative to solve this challenge. In bone tissue engineering, the essential components required for bone formation and...
