    A new experimental setup was fabricated; equipped with an adjustable chamber’s length, with air tangentially flowing through the wall of vortex engine. In a vortex combustion chamber, the tangential inlet fuel or oxidizer creates both inner and outer vortices which are rotating in the same angular direction. Indeed, inner vortex moves from head to the end of engine in the axial direction; however, outer vortex moves in the opposite direction.     A Dynamic model of Homogeneous Charge Compression Ignition (HCCI), based on chemical kinetics principles and artificial intelligence, is developed. The model can rapidly predict the combustion probability, thermochemistry properties, and exact timing of the Start of Combustion (SOC). A realization function is developed on the basis of the Sandia National Laboratory chemical kinetics model, and GRI3.0 methane chemical mechanism. The inlet conditions are optimized by Genetic Algorithm (GA), so that combustion initiates and SOC timing posits in the desired crank angle.     The heat transfer phenomenon in a vortex engine was investigated. A mixture of butane and propane was used as the fuel in which the mole fraction of butane and propane was 0.2 and 0.8, respectively. A series of tests were conducted in different conditions of oxidizer and fuel mass flow rates for a vortex engine. The tests were categorized into two groups to find the effects of the oxidizer mass flow rate on the flux of radiation heat transfer and convective cooling at a fixed equivalence ratio.     In a vortex engine, oxidizer issues tangentially at the end of the chamber, consequently a cool vortex flows toward the head, being mixed with fuel, a secondary vortex of combustible reactants swirls coaxial with the first vortex to the nozzle exit.
