This service is often offloaded to the sequencing companies who will have access to full knowledge of individuals' sequences, a major violation of privacy.     Abstract
    Free-standing TiO2 nanotube array (TNA) films were fabricated via two-step anodization of titanium sheet. The electrolyte consisted of DI water and ethylene glycol (99.9%, Merck) solution with volume ratio of 10:90, containing 0.5 M NH4F. Then, a few drops of 1M H3PO4 aquaes solution have been added to adjust pH at 5.7. The anodization process was performed at optimized applied voltage of 60 V for 200 min. Indeed it does in two-step for 50 and 150 min, and samples were sonicated of 40s between two steps. Then, to crystallize the grown structures, they were annealed in air at 500˚C for 80 minutes.     Kinetics and mechanism of 4,4-dicyano-5-ethyl-1,5-heptadiene rearrangement reaction, a pericyclic type reaction, were studied with ab initio calculations in gas and solution phases. This reaction is one of the cope rearrangement in which secondary kinetic isotope effect is observed. Theoretical study on these reactions showed that probability of radicalic mechanism is inconsiderable and reaction proceeds through out a concerted mechanism with cyclic transition state.     Abstract
    The reaction kinetics of 2-bromo-5-nitro thiophene with piperidine was studied in a solvent with a mixture of propan-2-ol with methanol and n-hexane at 25°C. The measured rate coefficients of the reaction demonstrated dramatic variations in propan-2-ol–n-hexane mixtures and mild variations in propan-2-ol–methanol system. The second-order rate coefficients of the reaction, kA, decreased sharply with n-hexane content. The multiparameter correlation of log kA versus molecular-microscopic solvent parameters shows interesting results in these solutions.     Aromatic nucleophilic substitution reaction of 1-fluoro-2,4-dinitrobenzene with para-substituted and meta-substituted anilines was kinetically investigated in the mixtures of ethyl acetate and methanol at room temperature. The correlation of second-order rate coefficients with Hammett's substituent constants yields a fairly linear straight line with negative slope in different mole fractions of ethyl acetate–methanol mixtures.     This paper presents a novel DLL-based frequency synthesizer architecture to generate fractional multiples of reference frequency and reduce the power consumption of the frequency synthesis block. The architecture is adopted for French VHF application as an example. The DLL architecture allows for minimal area, while consuming low power. The proposed circuit can operate at a substantially low supply voltage. The circuit level and system level designs are presented.     Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) was successfully immobilized on amine functionalized TiO2-coated multiwalled carbon nanotubes (NH2 – TiO2 – CNTs) by a convenient and efficient method. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and amperometry were applied to characterize the HRP/NH2 – TiO2 – CNT nano-composite. These techniques showed that the NH2 – TiO2 – CNTs greatly enhance the electron transfer between HRP and the modified electrode.     Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) was used to improve the hydrogen sensing properties of Pd and Pt-decorated TiO2 nanoparticles by facile production routes. The TiO2 nanoparticles were synthesized by sol–gel method and coupled on GO sheets via a photoreduction process. The Pd or Pt nanoparticles were decorated on the TiO2/RGO hybrid structures by chemical reduction. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy demonstrated that GO reduction is done by the TiO2 nanoparticles and Ti–C bonds are formed between the TiO2 and the RGO sheets as well.     Structural and intermolecular interactions of solvatochromic probes 4-nitroaniline, 4-nitroanisole, and Reichardt’s dye were investigated in the binary mixtures of 2-hydroxy ethylammonium formate as an ionic liquid with N,N-dimethyl formamide, dimethyl amine, and dimethyl sulfoxide.     Pd–WO3 nanostructures were incorporated on graphene oxide (GO) and partially reduced graphene oxide (PRGO) sheets using a controlled hydrothermal process to fabricate effective hydrogen gas sensors. Pd–WO3 nanostructures showed ribbon-like morphologies and Pd–WO3/GO presented an irregular nanostructured form, while Pd–WO3/PRGO exhibited a hierarchical nanostructure with a high surface area.
