    Abstract
Data streams are endless flow of data produced in high speed, large size and usually non-stationary environments. The main property of these streams is the occurrence of concept drifts. Using decision trees is shown to be a powerful approach for accurate and fast learning of data streams. In this paper, we present an incremental regression tree that can predict the target variable of newly incoming instances. The tree is updated in the case of occurring concept drifts either by altering its structure or updating its embedded models. Experimental results show the effectiveness of our algorithm in speed and accuracy aspects in comparison to the best state-of-the-art methods

    Abstract
In this paper, we consider a state-dependent multiple access relay channel (MARC) with two-way cooperation at transmitters, in which the transmitters cooperate with each other over two limited-rate channels. We derive an achievable rate region for this channel by using block-Markov superposition coding, and double binning techniques. In our proposed scheme, the relay decodes only parts of the messages which are shared between the transmitters. © 2018 IEEE

    Abstract
Spinal posture is a crucial input in biomechanical models and an essential factor in ergonomics investigations to evaluate risk of low back injury. In vivo measurement of spinal posture through the common motion capture techniques is limited to equipped laboratories and thus impractical for workplace applications. Posture prediction models are therefore considered indispensable tools. This study aims to investigate the capability of artificial neural networks (ANNs) in predicting the three-dimensional posture of the spine (S1, T12 and T1 orientations) in various activities. Two ANNs were trained and tested using measurements from spinal postures of 40 male subjects by an inertial tracking...

    Abstract
Identifying and reducing the dominant recombination processes in perovskite solar cells is one of the major challenges for further device optimization. Here, we show that introducing a thin interlayer of poly(4-vinylpyridine) (PVP) between the perovskite film and the hole transport layer reduces nonradiative recombination. Employing such a PVP interlayer, we reach an open-circuit voltage of 1.20 V for the best devices and a stabilized efficiency of 20.7%. The beneficial effect of the PVP interlayer is proven by statistical analysis of various samples, many of those showing an open-circuit voltage larger than 1.17 V, and a 30 mV increase in average compared to unmodified samples. The reduced...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Gholipour Shahraki, Ameneh (Author) ; Beigy, Hamid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Nowadays, living in information era has forced us to face with a great deal of problems of which the input data is received like a nonstop endless stream. Intrusion detection in networks or filtering spam emails out of legal ones are instances of such problems. In such areas, traditional classification algorithms show function improperly, thus it is necessary to make use of novel algorithms that can tackle these problems. Among classification algorithms, decision trees have significant advantages such as being independent of any parameter and acting robust against outliers or unrelated attributes. Moreover, results of a decision tree are quite easy to interpret and extract rules from....

Stimulus Signal Improvement in Order to Alleviate the Symptoms of Parkinson's Disease in Rat

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Gholipour, Saman (Author) ; Vosughi Vahdat, Bijan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Parkinson's disease is a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system. The motor symptoms of Parkinson's disease result from the death of dopamine-generating cells in the substantia nigra. The cause of this cell death is unknown. Early in the course of the disease, the most obvious symptoms are movement-related. Some of the symptoms are: shaking, rigidity, slowness of movement and difficulty with walking and gait. Modern treatments are effective at managing the early motor symptoms of the disease, mainly through the use of levodopa and dopamine agonists. As the disease progresses these drugs eventually become ineffective and produce a complication called dyskinesia, marked by...

    Abstract
Chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP) and Guillain-Barré syndrome (GBS) are inflammatory neuropathies with different clinical courses but similar underlying mechanisms. Long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) might affect pathogenesis of these conditions. In the current project, we have selected HULC, PVT1, MEG3, SPRY4-IT1, LINC-ROR and DSCAM-AS1 lncRNAs to appraise their transcript levels in the circulation of CIDP and GBS cases versus controls. Expression of HULC was higher in CIDP patients compared with healthy persons (Ratio of mean expression (RME) = 7.62, SE = 0.72, P < 0.001). While expression of this lncRNA was not different between female CIDP cases and female...
