Abstract
Gupta et al. [J. Opt. Soc. Am. B. 24, No. 5 (2007)] have introduced a localized upward plasma density ramp to overcome the defocusing of a laser beam. We report that there are fundamental mistakes in their work. First, the density profile formula that they have introduced is dimensionally incorrect. Second, the calculated dielectric constant is wrong as well, which renders their main spot size equation and the quantitative results unacceptable, and it seriously falters the results of the self-focusing. Abstract
This is the first research on the frequency analysis of a graphene nanoplatelet composite (GPLRC) microdisk in the framework of a numerical-based generalized differential quadrature method. The stresses and strains are obtained using the higher-order shear deformable theory. Rule of mixture is employed to obtain varying mass density, thermal expansion, and Poisson’s ratio, while module of elasticity is computed by modified Halpin–Tsai model. Abstract
In the present study, a special heat treatment cycle (step quenching) was used to produce a dual-phase (DP) microstructure in low carbon steel. By producing this DP microstructure, the mechanical properties of the investigated steel such as yield stress, tensile strength, and Vickers hardness were increased 14, 55, and 38%, respectively. In order to investigate the effect of heat treatment on formability of the steel, Nakazima forming test was applied and subsequently finite element base modeling was used to predict the outcome on forming limit diagrams. Abstract
The novel coumarin-3-carboxamides (=2-oxo-2H-1-benzopyran-3-carboxamides) 5a-5g containing lipophilic spacers were synthesized through the Ugi-four-component reaction (Scheme 1). The reactions of aromatic aldehydes 1, 4,4'-oxybis[benzenamine] or 4,4'-methylenebis[benzenamine] as diamine 2, coumarin-3-carboxylic acid (=2-oxo-2H-benzopyran-3-carboxylic acid; 3), and alkyl isocyanides 4 lead to the desired substituted coumarin-3-carboxamides 5a-5g at room temperature with high bond-forming efficiency. Passive radars use illuminators of opportunity to detect target and measure its parameters. The usual processing routine consists of direct path interference and clutter removal and computation of cross ambiguity function (CAF) to estimate ampIitude-range-Doppler surface. Herein, we demonstrated a facile method for the fabrication of magnetic and superhydrophobic polyurethane sponge with water contact angle of 159° as an adsorbent for cleanup the marine oil spill pollution. For this aim, a polyurethane sponge was coated with carbon black (CB), hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN)@Fe3O4, and acrylic resin and then characterized by different techniques. Herein, a series of superhydrophobic thin polyacrylic resin-coated carbon black (CB)/hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN)@Fe3O4/cellulose composite papers with good flexibility, low density (~0.67 g/cm3), high electrical conductivity (~0.065 S/cm), good thermal conductivity (0.462 W.m−1. K−1), and with water contact angle (WCA) of 153° were successfully fabricated by a facile dip-coating/spraying method. Abstract
Journals and conferences in computer science are the major venue for publishing new achievement in the field. It is an expert opinion that a number of top conferences in computer science are even more important than journals. In this work we aim at studying this in terms of citation analysis. To this end, we took 100 top journals and 63 top conferences and extracted their citation graph through Scopus dataset. We then constructed the citation graph in which the nodes were the journals and conferences and the links corresponded to the citations of the papers.
