One of the most studied problems in machine learning is finding reasonable constraints that guarantee the generalization of a learning algorithm. These constraints are usually expressed as some simplicity assumptions on the target. One of the approaches used in learning theory is using information theoretic tools. The general idea of this approach is that if we show the algorithm did not memorize the dataset, we could guarantee generalization. Noisy channel model is one of the important concepts in this approach. Abstract
Accumulative Roll Bonding (ARB) process has been developed during last decade to produce the Ultra Fine Grained (UFG) structures with high strength. In the present study, a Ti-IF steel was deformed up to equivalent strain of 4.8 at 500 ˚C using ARB process. For comparing the ARB with conventional forming processes, some samples were deformed with similar equivalent strain to ARB conditions at 500 ˚C and 300 ˚C as warm rolling. Moreover, the thermo-mechanical warm rolling was simulated by warm torsion. The ARB and warm rolled samples with largest strains were annealed at 750 ˚C. We use perturbative continuous unitary transformations (PCUT) to study the one dimensional extended ionic Hubbard model (EIHM) at half-filling in the band insulator region. The extended ionic Hubbard model, in addition to the usual ionic Hubbard model, includes an inter-site nearest-neighbor (n.n.) repulsion, V. We consider the ionic potential as unperturbed part of the Hamiltonian, while the hopping and interaction (quartic) terms are treated as perturbation. Abstract
An interstitial free (IF) steel was severely deformed using accumulative roll bonding (ARB) process and warm rolling. The maximum equivalent strains for ARB and warm rolling were 4.8 and 4.0, respectively. The microstructure and micro-texture were studied using optical microscopy and scanning electron microscopy equipped with electron back scattered diffraction (EBSD). The grain size and misorientation obtained by both methods are in the same range. The microstructure in the ARB samples after 6 cycles is homogeneous, although a grain size gradient is observed at the layers close to the surface. Traditionally, DVFS has been the main mechanism to trade-off performance and power. We observe that Deep Neural Network (DNN) applications offer the possibility to trade-off performance, power, and accuracy using both DVFS and numerical precision levels. Our proposed approach, Power-Inference accuracy Trading (PIT), monitors the server's load, and accordingly adjusts the precision of the DNN model and the DVFS setting of GPU to trade-off the accuracy and power consumption with response time. This paper describes the influence of a fractional melting process on the reduction of interdendritic phases, which in turn have an impact on the tensile strength of ZA-27 alloys. The procedure consists of compressing a semi-solid specimen through a porous grinding disc, resulting on coarsening of the dendritic phase, reduction of the microporosity and homogenization of the alloy. © 2002 Elsevier Science B.V. The prediction of material microstructure is of great interest to the material designers since the property and performance of materials depend strongly on their microstructures. In this work, a Monte Carlo approach is used to investigate the normal grain growth of aluminum and pure copper. The grain growth was calculated at certain temperatures using the grain growth law and compared with the simulation results by varying the Q as a parameter of simulation lattice orientation for pure aluminum. Background: The aim of this study was to investigate the neurotoxic effects of Fe3O4 magnetic- CurNPs on isolated schizophrenia mitochondria of rats as an in vivo model. Abstract
In this thesis control of wheeled mobile manipulators for cooperative object transportation is investigated. Full dynamic model of a mobile manipulator with a three wheeled mobile base and a three DOF manipulator is derived using Gibbs-Appell method. Input-output linearization technique is used to control individual robots. Transporting the object is divided into two steps, first robots use a decentralized behavior-based method to approach and surround the object. Then virtual structure method is used to control the robots to transport the object cooperatively. In this work dynamic behavior of a two body TSS with main satellite as rigid body is studied and effects of tether elasticity and tension on the satellite dynamic are indicated in station keeping phase and circular orbit. Also a simplified modeling is introduced which could be used in nonlinear controller design. Lagrange and extended Lagrange method is used to derive equations of motion. It is shown that longitudinal vibration of tether has small effect on satellite attitude and angular velocity and because of high frequency it can be decoupled from satellite dynamic.
