Abstract
The objective of OCR systems is to retrieve machine-encoded text from a raster image. Despite the abundance of powerful OCR algorithms for English, there are not many for Farsi. Our proposed algorithm is comprised of pre-processing, line detection, sub-word detection and segmentation, feature extraction and classification. Furthermore, hardware implementation and acceleration of this system on a GPGPU is presented. Abstract
A new and fast method for the preparation of aminals is reported from the reaction of aromatic aldehydes and secondary amines in the presence of potassium carbonate in high yields. The aminal can be converted to the corresponding iminum salt in reaction with acetyl chloride very easily and in very short time with high yield. Addition of trialkylphosphite, as one possible nucleophile, to the prepared iminium salt produces the α-amino phosphonate in very high yield

Concentric steel braces and brace-type dampers are often applied to the upgrading of reinforced concrete frames subjected to lateral loads. These braces may develop High axial tension forces, and transferring them appropriately to the existing beam– Column joints is a key challenge. This paper investigates a solution for connecting the end-plate of the steel brace with the frame, using shear-key plates fixed to the concrete with anchor bolts, and a low friction material inserted between the end-plates and the shear-key plates. Abstract
An assessment study of two different shunt FACTS devices for compensating disturbances due to voltage variation in power systems is presented in this paper. Namely, Static Compensator (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensator (SVC) are Considered in this study. Eigen Value analysis and nonlinear time domain simulations for starting motor, motor in load varying state and short circuit on motor terminals show that STATCOM DC Voltage regulation has a better performance Compared to that of SVC. The result that will be presented in the paper will prove the superiorly of STATCOM over SVC in increasing motor speeding up and improving system voltage profile particularly at starting. © 2005 IEEE

The unique properties of modified Hermite pulses is utilized to develop a novel pulse technique for Ultra Wideband (UWB) communications. The proposed method increases the bandwidth of the pulse up to 10 GHz and overcomes the coexistence problem of UWB and vulnerable narrowband systems through suppressing narrowband interference. In this thesis, with a review on policy simulation and economic reform analysis literature, we design a suitable method to analyze the effects of monetizing energy carriers subsidy on welfare criteria of Iranian households. The selected method is limited general equilibrium that needs demand estimates of goods, services and energy. In firs step,based on 13 years of data on “Iranian Households’ Expenditures and Income” surveys, data are provided as a pseudo-panel. Adverse Selection in Iranian Life Insurance Market

This thesis finds evidence for the presence of adverse selection in the Iranian life insurance market. We use a unique dataset including more than one million policyholders’ profile information alongside their chosen life insurance coverage from the largest Iranian insurance company. Our results not only find evidence in support of adverse selection in this market, but also consider the magnitude of adverse selection relatively notable. Moreover, we found that in addition to the coverage, the other dimensions of contract could be the potential source of adverse selection. Abstract
Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) systems are so popular in aerial imaging because of their high resolution. Ground moving target indication (GMTI) is one of the most challenging problems in this field. The use of multiple antennas in transmit and receive is an innovative idea that can overcome the limitations of SAR systems. In this paper, after modelling the received signal and focusing it, we propose an algorithm for GMTI with the use of compressed sensing. The proposed algorithm has low complexity compared to similar algorithms. Simulation results show that this approach is accurate in estimation of positions and velocities of moving targets. © 2018 IEEE

Stress sensitivity is a phenomenon that affects reservoir rock properties, such as permeability and therefore changes the well pressure transient behavior. This paper aims to study these behaviors in stress sensitive reservoirs and evaluate the pressure loss in such reservoirs during the process of hydrocarbon production.
