Snappfood UGC Classification Using Machine Learning and Comparison of SVM and NB Methods

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Honarvar, Mohsen (Author) ; Najmi, Manoochehr (Supervisor)
    Abstract
One way for businesses to grow and compete, in any age (especially the digital age), is to create a Brand Relevance through creating or finding, and then owning new categories or subcategories. In this way, instead of beating competitors; they become irrelevant by enticing customers to buy a new category or subcategory for which other alternative brands are not considered relevant. Firms traditionally rely on interviews and focus groups to identify these subcategories and customer needs. Nowadays, with the growth of social media, user-generated content (UGC) is also a good alternative source. However, Due to the large size of UGC and the non-informative or repetitive data it contains,...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology Rahmanian, Mohammad (Author) ; Dehghani Firouz Abadi, Ruhollah (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the current study, nonlinear vibration and stability of conical shells with both separate and concurrent internal and external flows are studied. External and internal flows are in the supersonic and subsonic regimes, respectively. The Krumhar’s aerodynamic piston theory is utilized to model the external loading on the structure as well as the compressible potential flow model to capture the internal fluid dynamics. The so-called compressible fluid model is obtained via simplification of the Navier-Stockes equations after applying the inviscid and irrotational assumptions. The nonlinear structural equations of motion are derived using the Hamiltonian dynamics approach and utilizing the...

    Abstract
One of the beneficial impacts of Distributed generation (DG) units on electrical network is power loss reduction in the distribution feeder on which DG is located. In this paper the effect of DG on power losses of a distribution feeder with a combination of uniformly distributed and lumped loads is investigated, and a mathematical model of power loss reduction as a function of DG and the feeder parameters is extracted. Then, based on the derived formula, optimum conditions of utilizing and locating the DG units are obtained. © 2006 IEEE

    Abstract
Single lap-shear (SLS) specimens of 63Sn37Pb solder joints were prepared with three different adherend thicknesses at three varying joint lengths. The fracture force was measured at a shear strain rate of 0.01 s-1 for different geometries. The elastic-plastic fracture mechanics (EPFM) theory was used to find the energy dissipated in each case using a finite element model (FEM), and the fracture energy was obtained by cohesive zone modeling (CZM). Both 2-D and 3-D models were used to explain the variations in fracture energy by the level of constraint on the joint. Also, the plastic zone area and stress distribution along the solder layer were calculated at the moment of fracture. A phase...

Deconstruction of Media Hegemony Based on Ideas of Jacques Derrida

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Honarvar, Mohammad Amin (Author) ; Hoseini, Hassan (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In the first description if we describe technology as a tool, Communication technologies or media should be consider as the most important element of today's technological world. This research is going to cover reconsidering and recreating the mean of media based on the Ideas of JacquesDerrida. In this regard, two major dichotomy is evident in the public understanding of media. meanwhile "media versus message" and on the other hand opposition between "media and audience". So deconstruction in the face of these binary oppositions, want to read out the notion that message is superior to media, and on the other hand to deconstruction of the hegemony of the media on the audience

    Abstract
Recently nanostructure materials have used in various technologies and hence an extensive part of research focused on preparing and optimization of growth of nanostructure materials. Usually common procedure is based on a two-step process. First, construction a pre-layer by means of different deposition methods and then formation a nanostructure with a thermal treatment which increases the cost of research. Hence with one step method such as glancing angle deposition (GLAD ( it is possible to form a desirable structure with low cost. In this research Nano columns of tungsten was deposited on Si(133) by means of GLAD-RF sputtering without any heat treatment at substrate rotational speed ( )...

Ant colony optimisation for the bi-objective due-date-setting problem in the multi-class make-to-order firm

    , Article International Journal of Industrial and Systems Engineering ; Volume 13, Issue 4 , 2013 , Pages 496-520 ; 17485037 (ISSN) Honarvar, M ; Chaharsooghi, S. K ; Modarres, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2013
    Abstract
In this study, we develop a bi-objective programming approach for due-date setting in make-to-order manufacturing with different classes of customers. We formulate the problem of quoting due-dates under the assumption that demand is dependent on lead-time and price is determined by the length of the delivery time. In addition, other parameters such as production policy, inventory holding, delivery system and capacity utilisation should be considered in due-date decisions. To this purpose, we consider additional objective function in traditional due-date management problem. So, the proposed bi-objective model attempts to maximise total profit and minimise rates of changes in capacity...

    Abstract
The combination of traditional retail channel with direct channel adds a new dimension of competition to manufacturers' distribution system. In this paper, we consider a make-to-order manufacturer with two channels of sale, sale through retailers and online direct sale. The customers are classified into different classes, based on their sensitivity to price and due date. The orders of traditional retail channel customers are fulfilled in the same period of ordering. However, price and due date are quoted to the online customers based on the available capacity as well as the other orders in the pipeline. We develop two different structures of the supply chain: centralized and decentralized...

Inverse and forward dynamics of N-3RPS manipulator with lockable joints

    , Article Robotica ; 2015 ; ISSN: 02635747 Taherifar, A ; Salarieh, H ; Alasty, A ; Honarvar, M ; Sharif University of Technology
    2015
    Abstract
The N-3 Revolute-Prismatic-Spherical (N-3RPS) manipulator is a kind of serial-parallel manipulator and has higher stiffness and accuracy compared with serial mechanisms, and a larger workspace compared with parallel mechanisms. The locking mechanism in each joint allows the manipulator to be controlled by only three wires. Modeling the dynamics of this manipulator presents an inherent complexity due to its closed-loop structure and kinematic constraints. In the first part of this paper, the inverse kinematics of the manipulator, which consists of position, velocity, and acceleration, is studied. In the second part, the inverse and forward dynamics of the manipulator is formulated based on...
