    Dominating coloring number of claw-free graphs

    Abstract
    Let G be a graph. It is well-known that G contains a proper vertex-coloring with χ(G) colors with the property that at least one color class of the coloring is a dominating set in G. Among all such proper vertex-coloring of the vertices of G, a coloring with the maximum number of color classes that are dominating sets in G is called a dominating-χ-coloring of G. The number of color classes that are dominating sets in a dominating-χ-coloring of G is defined to be the dominating-χ-color number of G and is denoted by dχ(G). In this paper, we prove that if G is a claw-free graph with minimum degree at least two, then dχ(G)≥2

    Short ZnO nanorods and long ZnO nanowires have been produced on SiO2 and Si substrates by VLS and VS mechanisms via a double tube chemical vapor transport and condensation (CVTC) process. The role of reactants and droplet interfaces on the nucleation and growth of ZnO nanorods have been investigated. A conceptual model for nucleation of ZnO nanorods has been proposed by describing the half-oxidation and reduction reactions at the growth front.     In this paper, optimization and control of a tubular reactor for thermal bulk post-polymerization of styrene have been investigated. By using the reactor mathematical model, static and dynamic simulations are carried out. Based on an objective function including polymer conversion and polydispersity, reactor optimal temperature profile has been obtained.     Abstract
    We investigate the potentials of applying the coded caching paradigm in wireless networks. In order to do this, we investigate physical layer schemes for downlink transmission from a multiantenna transmitter to several cache-enabled users. As the baseline scheme, we consider employing coded caching on the top of max-min fair multicasting, which is shown to be far from optimal at high-SNR values. Our first proposed scheme, which is near-optimal in terms of DoF, is the natural extension of multiserver coded caching to Gaussian channels.     Fourier-based modal methods are among the most significant tools for accurate numerical analysis of grating structures. However, they mostly lead to time consuming and memory hungry eigenvalue problems, particularly when large dielectric constants or high contrasts are involved. We have found an asymptotic semi-empirical relationship for the propagation constants of a lamellar grating, obtained from Fourier-based modal methods.     Considering cache enabled networks, optimal content placement minimizing the total cost of communication in such networks is studied, leading to a surprising fundamental 0–1 law for non-redundant cache placement strategies, where the total cache sizes associated with each file does not exceed the file size. In other words, for such strategies we prove that any nonredundant cache placement strategy can be transformed, with no additional cost, to a strategy in which at every node, each file is either cached completely or not cached at all.     Abstract
    Pulsating Heat Pipes (PHPs) are new and promising heat transfer devices. To implement the novel idea to vary the startup performance of a PHP using ferrofluid with and without the application of magnetic field, an experimental investigation is conducted. The effects of several important parameters including working fluid, charging ratio, heat input, ferrofluid concentration, internal pressure, and application of magnetic field on the startup performance of Open Loop Pulsating Heat Pipes (Open Loop PHPs) have been considered and described in detail. In such systems, the ultimate goal of any request is to compute a sequence of functions in the network, where each function can be computed at only a specific subset of network nodes.     In this work, we have examined the distributed consensus averaging problem from a novel point of view considering the need for privacy and anonymity. We have proposed a method for incorporating security into the scalable average consensus mechanisms proposed in the literature. Random Offsets Method (ROM) is lightweight, transparent and flexible since it is not based on cryptography, does not require any change in the fusion system and can be used optionally by some nodes who care about their privacy.     Abstract
    We study the sample complexity of learning a high-dimensional simplex from a set of points uniformly sampled from its interior. Learning of simplices is a long studied problem in computer science and has applications in computational biology and remote sensing, mostly under the name of “spectral unmixing.” We theoretically show that a sufficient sample complexity for reliable learning of a K-dimensional simplex up to a total-variation error of ε is O(Kε2 log Kε ), which yields a substantial improvement over existing bounds.     Aluminum Bronzes have many applications in marine environments. These alloys suffer from both hot cracking and cold cracking.     In this paper we introduce some general necessary conditions for the existence of graph homomorphisms, which hold in both directed and undirected cases. Our method is a combination of Diaconis and Saloff–Coste comparison technique for Markov chains and a generalization of Haemers interlacing theorem. As some applications, we obtain a necessary condition for the spanning subgraph problem, which also provides a generalization of a theorem of Mohar (1992) as a necessary condition for Hamiltonicity.     In this paper we introduce a chromatic parameter, called the fixing chromatic number, which is related to unique colourability of graphs, in the sense that it measures how one can embed the given graph G in G∪Kt by adding edges between G and Kt to make the whole graph uniquely t-colourable. We study some basic properties of this parameter as well as its relationships to some other well-known chromatic numbers as the acyclic chromatic number.
