    The polysaccharide, kappa-carrageenan (κC) was chemically modified to achieve a novel superabsorbent hydrogel via graft copolymerization of methacrylamide (MAM) onto the substrate followed by alkaline hydrolysis. Ammonium persulfate (APS) and N,N′-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) were used as a free-radical initiator and a crosslinker, respectively.     In this study, a series of highly swelling hydrogels based on sodium alginate (NaAlg) and polymethacrylamide (PMAM) was prepared through free radical polymerization. The graft copolymerization reaction was performed in a homogeneous medium and in the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator andN,N′-methylenebisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker.     In this study, the effect of adding walnut shell-based powdered activated carbon (WS) to a bench-scale dissolved air flotation (DAF) column on oil removal was investigated. All experiments were conducted using synthetically prepared wastewater containing low but stable concentrations of heavy fuel oil. After comparing the effect of different WS doses from 0 (blank) to 40 mg/L at the saturator pressure of 5 bar and 10 min flotation time, 20 mg/L WS was chosen as the optimal concentration.     The present research work aims to employ plasma focus in order to deposit molybdenum (Mo) on the 304 stainless steel substrate. The processing parameters were shot numbers as well as the distance of substrate from the anode tip. Stereo, atom force microscopy (AFM) and field emission-scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) equipped with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) were used to study the deposited coatings. Microhardness measurements were also performed on the coatings. Results indicated that the plasma focus can be successfully applied to deposit Mo anode on the stainless steel substrate.     Studies on corrugated steel shear walls (CSSWs) generally indicate noticeable increase of energy absorption, as well as increasing shear buckling capacity of corrugated plates being more likely rather than the flat plates. In this paper, the effect of variation in the angle of trapezoidal plate on the behavior of CSSWs has extensively been investigated. The routing protocol in the IoT environment is Routing Protocol for Low-Power and Lossy Networks (RPL).     In this article, we synthesize a novel gelatin-based superabsorbent hydrogel via graft copolymerization of mixtures of acrylic acid (AA) and acrylamide (AAm) onto gelatin backbones. The polymerization reaction was carried out in an aqueous medium and in the presence of ammonium persulfate (APS) as an initiator and N,N-methylene bisacrylamide (MBA) as a crosslinker.     Abstract
    The energy of a graph G, E(G), is defined as the sum of absolute values of the eigenvalues of its adjacency matrix. In Akbari and Hosseinzadeh (2020) [3] it was conjectured that for every graph G with maximum degree Δ(G) and minimum degree δ(G) whose adjacency matrix is non-singular, E(G)≥Δ(G)+δ(G) and the equality holds if and only if G is a complete graph. Let G be a connected graph with the edge set E(G). In this paper, first we show that E(L(G))≥|E(G)|+Δ(G)−5, where L(G) denotes the line graph of G. Next, using this result, we prove the validity of the conjecture for the line of each connected graph of order at least 7. © 2021 Elsevier Inc
