Design of Addatives for use in Li-ion Batteries: A Density Functional Theory Approach

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Inanlou, Samane (Author) ; Gobal, Fereydoon (Supervisor)
    Abstract
In Li batteries, lithium ions are exchanged between two electrodes, along with the accompaning electron transfer to maintain riability good ionic conductivities and electrolytes stability are achived through additives to the electrolyte. Such matrial should possess good anions acceptability. This work investigates the potential of aza-ethers in this regard. The softness criteris is basically employed. DFT calculation for selected molecules of different size, substituents and interacting atoms are used to correlate softness, electrophilicity, Fukui no, etc to the usefulness of the corresponding matrials

Design of Local Rule for Cellular Automata Using Evolutionary Algorithms

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Mousavi, Samane Sadat (Author) ; Beigy, Hamid (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Cellular automata is a model for physical systems that has homogenous and simple components. Simple components, which are called cells, have local interactions creating complicated global emergent of behaviour. In the field of cellular automata, there are two basic problems: forward and inverse problems. Characterizations of cellular automata rule are studied in forward problem, but in inverse problem, there exists a description of cellular automata and we should find a rule or a set of rules that satisfy the given description. This problem belongs to the class of NP problems and hence heuristic algorithms such as evolutionary algorithms have been used for solving it. Since rules space and...

A multi-product pricing-inventory model with stochastic demand and products interdependency

    , Article Proceedings - 3rd International Conference on Information Management, Innovation Management and Industrial Engineering, ICIII 2010, 26 November 2010 through 28 November 2010 ; Volume 2 , Nov , 2010 , Pages 227-231 ; 9780769542799 (ISBN) Inanlou Ganjiz, A. Abstract
In this paper, we study a pricing-inventory model with multiple interdependent products and stochastic demand. In the relevant literature, there are many researches that try to optimize the inventory or price independently and also optimizing joint inventory and pricing problems for single product. But joint optimization of inventory and pricing for multiple interdependent products is relatively new and still there are many potential research gaps in this area. We show that the multiplicative demand form problem, that we develop, is a convex nonlinear programming (NLP) model or is convertible to it. We also provide upper and lower bounds for the additive demand form model

Inventory-Pricing Models with Multiple Interdependent Products and Demand Uncertainty

    Abstract
In this research, a pricing-inventory model with multiple interdependent products and stochastic demand is studied. In the relevant literature, there are many researches that are related to optimize the inventory or price independently and also optimizing joint inventory and pricing for single product. But joint optimization of inventory and pricing for multiple interdependent products is relatively new and still there are many potential research gaps in this area. We develop the model with additive and multiplicative demand uncertainty. Then we develop a genetic algorithm and tune its parameters to solve the models. We investigate the efficiency of proposed GA. Results were relatively good....
