Abstract
In this investigation, a reactor model for prediction of the deactivation behavior of MTO's porous catalyst in a fixed bed reactor is developed. Effect of coking on molecular transport in the porous structure of SAPO-34 has been simulated using the percolation theory. Thermal effects of the reaction were considered in the model and the temperature profile of the gas stream in the reactor was predicted. The predicted loss in catalyst activity with time-on-stream was in very good agreement with the experimental data. Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to apply Poisson generalized linear model (PGLM) with log link instead of multinomial logistic regression to monitor multinomial logistic profiles in Phase I. Hence, estimating the coefficients becomes easier and more accurate. Design/methodology/approach: Simulation technique is used to assess the performance of the proposed algorithm using four different control charts for monitoring. Findings: The proposed algorithm is faster and more accurate than the previous algorithms. Abstract
Comparison of the traditional linear heating method of TPD with an original stepwise heating scheme was reported for the first time. Stepwise heating TPD was carried out by keeping the temperature constant as soon as ammonia desorption signal rises until the signal returns to the baseline. More ammonia desorption peaks on a SAPO-34 catalyst were identified using TPD with stepwise heating. The effect of temperature ramp on desorption peak broadening in TPD curve was also addressed. Abstract
Several SAPO-34 samples with different Si/Al ratio (0.05-0.5) of synthesis gel were prepared hydrothermally at crystallization temperature of 190-215 °C. The products were characterized by XRD, SEM/EDX, NH3-TPD, FT-IR and nitrogen adsorption techniques. EDX data showed a deviation of elemental composition of products with respect to the Al, Si, and P from that of the gel mixture, but the increasing trend of Si/Al ratio of the products was confirmed. According to XRD and SEM results, crystallinity of samples increased with Si/Al ratio up to the low to medium range of ca. 0.13. Abstract
Low silicon content SAPO-34 was successfully synthesized using the conventional hydrothermal crystallization in the static condition. Effects of different synthesis conditions including crystallization temperature and the silicon source were investigated through X-ray diffraction patterns. It was concluded that the silicon source had a significant effect on silicon incorporation into the alumino-phosphate building blocks in the course of crystallization. Using CNG as an additive for gasoline is a proper choice due to higher octane number of CNG enriched gasoline with respect to that of gasoline. We introduce a new smooth, non-toxic, biocompatible method for cross-linking of gum tragacanth (GT), a polysaccharide of natural origin, in order to serve as a new supporting matrix for immobilization systems. The modified gum is used as a matrix for the catalysis of the conversion of benzyl penicillin to 6-aminopenicillanic acid (6-APA) by means of Escherichia coli ATCC11105 with penicillin G acylase (PGA) activity. In this study, the influence of CO2 and CH4 on the performance and selectivity of Co-Ru/Al2O3 catalyst is investigated by injection of these gases (0-20 vol.% of feed) to the feed stream. The effect of temperature and feed flow rate are also inspected. The results show that low amounts of CO2 in the feed stream do not change the catalyst activity, but increasing the amount of CO2 (more than 10 vol.%), causes the CO conversion to decrease and the selectivity of heavy components to increase. Abstract
In this paper, we present a nano-quantum photonic approach for the calculation of normal dispersion phenomena in organic crystals such as N-(4-nitrophenyl)-L-prolinol(NPP). We assume that a laser beam consists of a flow of energetic particles that interact with the distorted π-electron system. We approximate the distorted π-electron cloud by an ellipse to simplify calculations. By the precise analysis of photon interaction with the π-electron system of benzene ring in the NPP crystal, we obtain the refractive index in any wavelength by Monte Carlo simulation. The maximum error between our simulation results and the measurement data is 0.058, which is agreeable. © 2007 IOP Publishing Ltd

Abstract
We investigate the effect of wall roughness on water electrolyte transport characteristics at different temperatures through carbon nanotubes by using nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations. Our results reveal that shearing stress and the nominal viscosity increase with ion concentration in corrugated carbon nanotubes (CNTs), in contrast to cases in smooth CNTs. Also, the temperature increase leads to the reduction of shearing stress and the nominal viscosity at moderate degrees of wall roughness.
