    In this Letter, we realize the concept of analog computing using an engineered gradient dielectric meta-reflect-array. The proposed configuration consists of individual subwavelength silicon nanobricks, in combination with a fused silica spacer and silver ground plane, realizing a reflection beam with full phase coverage of 2π degrees, as well as an amplitude range of 0 to 1. Spectrally overlapping electric and magnetic dipole resonances, such high-index dielectric metasurfaces can locally and independently manipulate the amplitude and phase of the incident electromagnetic wave.     In this paper, we propose using mobile nanosensors (MNSs) for early stage anomaly detection. For concreteness, we focus on the detection of cancer cells located in a particular region of a blood vessel. These cancer cells produce and emit special molecules, so-called biomarkers, which are symptomatic for the presence of anomaly, into the cardiovascular system. Detection of cancer biomarkers with conventional blood tests is difficult in the early stages of a cancer due to the very low concentration of the biomarkers in the samples taken.     In the present work we obtained a series of NIR luminescent platinum(II) complexes with a pincer N^N^C ligand based on the conjugated {benzoimidazo[1,2-a]pyrazine} system with the [Pt(N^N^C)L]n+ structural motif (L = phosphine, alkynyl or pyridine-type ligands).     Abstract
    In this paper, we consider resonant interaction between a surface wave and sub-harmonic interfacial waves forming a two-dimensional pattern at the interface between two fluid layers. The resulting interfacial pattern changes both in time and space. An image processing technique is proposed to extract information about the evolution of the component interfacial waves in a wave flume. The technique proved to give accurate and consistent results when applied to different stages of the interaction. The experimental measurements were used to verify the theoretical predictions.     Flexible canopies bend and oscillate in both the in-line and cross-flow directions due to periodic forcing associated with vortex shedding. The resultant plant motion impacts the vegetation wake structure and, thus, the rate of lateral dispersion in these environments. Despite significant improvements in our understanding of dispersion in rigid canopies, a reliable framework to predict mixing in oscillating canopies is still lacking.     In the present work, a simple, green, rapid, and catalyst-free procedure for the synthesis of benzamide derivatives by ring opening of azlactones with diamines such as ethylene diamine and 1,3-propylenediamine is described. The present method offers several advantages such as short reaction times, easy work-up, and mild reaction conditions in the absence of catalyst and any toxic solvent and material.     Measuring semantic similarity of web services has several benefits and most of the proposed service discovery algorithms are based on measuring the similarity of the requested service with each of the advertised services. In this paper, we propose a method for measuring the similarity of web services which are annotated with OWL-S ontology. First, a semantic similarity measure for determining the similarity of OWL concepts is discussed and then based on this measure, the functional similarity of services is defined.     In this paper we analyze and investigate the bit error rate (BER) performance of multiple-input multiple-output underwater wireless optical communication (MIMO-UWOC) systems. In addition to exact BER expressions, we also obtain an upper bound on the system BER. To effectively estimate the BER expressions, we use Gauss-Hermite quadrature formula as well as approximation to the sum of log-normal random variables. These communities can be a useful way for readers to access space slice of millions of Weblogs. In this paper we introduce a new algorithm to infer communities based on their link structure.     This paper is concerned with an analysis of image processing data to identify interfacial waves at the interface between two fluid layers in a laboratory flume. The interfacial waves are excited through a non-linear resonant interaction with a surface wave traveling in a wave flume filled with a two-layer fluid. A spatial harmonic analysis is proposed to extract information about the nonlinear evolution of the constituent waves from the interface oscillation data.     We study the problem of power efficient tracking interval management for distributed target tracking wireless sensor networks (WSNs). We first analyze the performance of a distributed target tracking network with one moving object, using a quantitative mathematical analysis. We show that previously proposed algorithms are efficient only for constant average velocity objects; however, they do not ensure an optimal performance for moving objects with acceleration.     We consider the minimization of power consumption in target tracking wireless sensor networks (WSNs) using dynamic modification of tracking interval. In this context, we first analyze the performance of such networks, using a quantitative mathematical analysis.
