    The traditional backup protection system of transmission lines are self-contained and only use from local measurements and generally, don’t use from wide area measurements. Hence, it can misoperate when the power system is extremely under stress conditions. So, the zone 3 of distance relays have been recognized as one of important participating causes of cascading phenomena that lead to major power system blackouts.     This paper proposes a novel adaptive wide area backup protection scheme for transmission lines. In the proposed scheme, both the faulted line and fault location are determined by a limited number of synchronized phasor measurements. Based on phasor measurement unit placement and network topology, subsets of lines and buses called backup protection zones (BPZs) are formed. After a fault occurs in the transmission network, the sum of zero- and/or positive-sequence currents entering the faulted BPZ highly increases, and hence, the faulted BPZ can be determined.     Bacterial transport parameters play a fundamental role in microbial population dynamics, biofilm formation and bacteria dispersion. In this study, the novel model was extended based on the capability of microsized microbial fuel cells (MFCs) as amperometric biosensors to predict the cells' chemotactic and bioelectrochemical properties. The ordering takes place when the inventory level depletes to a reorder level, and the order is split among two suppliers.     Loads from laterally spreading ground have been a major cause of damages to pile foundations in past earthquakes. Analysis of case histories have shown that damages are particularly intense when a nonliquefiable surface crust layer spreads laterally over underling liquefied layers.
