    Abstract
    A new hybrid optimization method, combining Continuous Ant Colony System (CACS) and Tabu Search (TS) is proposed for minimization of continuous multi-minima functions. The new algorithm incorporates the concepts of promising list, tabu list and tabu balls from TS into the framework of CACS. This enables the resultant algorithm to avoid bad regions and to be guided toward the areas more likely to contain the global minimum. New strategies are proposed to dynamically tune the radius of the tabu balls during the execution and also to handle the variable correlations.     Abstract
    Lake Urmia (LU) once was the second largest hypersaline lake in the world, covering up to 6000 km2, but has undergone catastrophic desiccation in recent years resulting in loss of 90% of its area and extensive coverage by playas and marshlands that represent a source of salt and dust. This study examines daily Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) data from the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) between 2001 and 2015 over northwestern Iran, which encompasses LU. Intriguingly, salt emissions from the LU surface associated with ongoing desiccation do not drive the study region's AOD profile, whereas pollution transported from other regions and emissions around LU are more important....

    Abstract
    In this research, for the first time, the effect of air quenching on the microstructural and electrical properties of (In, Nb) co-doped TiO2 was investigated. The FE-SEM images showed that the air quenching has no effect on microstructure of co-doped TiO2. However, air quenching affected the electrical properties so that the dielectric constant in the frequency of 1 kHz at room temperature sharply enhanced from 21*103 to 26*104 and the dielectric loss surprisingly decreased from 0.6 to 0.1. This incredible improvement in the dielectric properties is attributed to the electron-pined defect dipoles which has been activated through air quenching. © 2020 Elsevier B.V

    This paper addresses the problem of optimal state-feedback design for a class of non-linear systems. The method is applicable to all non-linear systems which can be linearised using the method of state-feedback linearisation. The alternative is to use linear optimisation techniques for the linearised equations, but then there is no guarantee that the original non-linear system behaves optimally.     Up to now, multifunctional varistor-capacitor materials were based on TiO2, even though these materials failed to have practical applications. For the first time, in this research, multifunctional varistor-capacitor properties are observed in the CuO-doped SnO2-CoO-Sb2O3 system. The XRD analysis showed that this system has a single phase microstructure. SEM images indicated that the CuO addition resulted in a better densification and larger grain size. The very low electric breakdown field of the CuO-doped SnO2-CoO-Sb2O3 system (12 V/mm, similar to TiO2), is a consequence of coarse-grained microstructure.     Utilizing the Finite Element Method (FEM), the strain field in the radial forging process of tube is calculated at different process conditions and compared with the experimental results achieved using the microhardness test. The effect of various process parameters such as friction, axial feed, back push and front pull forces and die angles on the strain field are investigated.     Abstract
    In this letter, a new approach to perform edge detection is presented using an all-dielectric complimentary metal-oxide-semiconductor-compatible metasurface. Our design is based on the guided-mode resonance, which provides a high quality factor resonance to make the edge detection experimentally realizable. The proposed structure is easy to fabricate, and it can be exploited for detection of edges in two dimensions due to its symmetry. In addition, a tradeoff between gain and the resolution of edge detection is discussed, which can be adjusted using appropriate design parameters.     Smartphones can be viewed as resource pools capable of communicating with their outside world. Such communication capabilities provide unique opportunity for sharing resources, which would result in new possibilities for end users. In this paper, we present a new framework designed for managing mobile local networks, also referred to as Mobile Clouds. In this framework, mobility of nodes is managed by selecting one leader for each cloud, which is responsible for all cloud-level decisions, as well as processing all incoming data from other users.     Abstract
    The electrooculogram (EOG) artifact is one of the main contaminators of electroencephalographic recording (EEG). EOG can make serious problems in results and interpretations of EEG processing. Rejecting contaminated EEG segments result in an unacceptable data loss. Many methods were proposed to correct EOG artifact mainly based on regression and blind source separation (BSS). In this study, we proposed an automatic correction method based on maximum likelihood estimation. The proposed method was applied to our simulated data (real artifact free EEG plus controlled EOG) and results show that this method gives superior performance to Schlögl and SOBI methods

    Abstract
    Heart rate monitoring using wrist-type using photoplethysmographic (PPG) signals during subjects' intensive exercises is a challenging problem, since signals are strongly affected by motion artifacts caused by unexpected movements. This paper presents a method that uses both time and frequency characteristics of signals; using sparse signal reconstruction for high-resolution spectrum estimation. Experimental results on type data sets recorded from 12 subjects during fast running at peak speed of 15 km/hour. The results have a performance with the average absolute error being 1.80 beat per minute
