Abstract
In this paper, an experimental evaluation on the viscosity of water-based manganese ferrite nanofluid with and without magnetic field with 100, 200, 300, and 400 G intensities has been conducted. The Brookfield DV-I PRIME viscometer is implemented to measure the MnFe2O4/water nanofluid viscosity and to evaluate the influence of different volume concentrations (from 0.25% to 3%) and various temperatures (from 20 to 60 °C) on the viscosity. According to the measurements, viscosity incrementally increases with the augmentation of nanoparticles concentration while it remarkably decreases at higher temperatures under absence and attendance of magnetic field. The maximum viscosity ratio of 1.14 is...

Abstract
The present study aims to present a guidance algorithm based on the relative motion prediction for orbital rendezvous, in which a coast phase is allowed between two powered phases. In both powered phases, the solution of the Hill-Clohessy-Wiltshire equations is used to find the required state variables at each time instant. To track the required trajectory and compensate for any orbital perturbations and uncertainties, a non-singular terminal sliding mode method is utilized as the steering law. Then, the finite time convergence of the state variables is mathematically proved. In addition, the starting time of the second powered phase is adapted to perturbations and uncertainties by another...

Abstract
Today’s the technology based on dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) has an important role in all photovoltaic system technologies. DSSCs can generate electricity with various degrees of transparency; this makes it suitable for use in various industries, especially in construction industry as smart windows. In fact DSSC can produce electricity and having natural light, simultaneously. It is obvious that DSSCs need to absorb solar radiation as much as possible. Since, the effective use of all incident lights leads to an increase in cell efficiency and this increase in efficiency is related to the amount of dye adsorbed on the surface of nanostructured electrode, so higher amount of dye for...

Abstract
The rendezvous is one of the most important parts of some current and future space missions. To reduce the risk of collision, the terminal phase of orbital rendezvous is very critical and requires high accuracy for controlling the chaser relative position and velocity. The terminal phase starts with detection of the target spacecraft by the chaser sensors. Due to the safety requirements and availability of the relative position and velocity data, generally the closed loop guidance and control are utilized. In this study, the closed loop guidance and control of the orbital rendezvous of a chaser satellite is studied. The target is assumed to be in an elliptical orbit and the relative dynamics...

The results show that the addition of 10wt.% and 20wt.% of PCL to the neat-PLA increases the elongation of the specimens by 32% and 284%, respectively, compared to that of the neat-PLA. However, Young’s modulus respectively decreases by 22% and 34%. According to the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)...

Abstract
Considering the desirable biodegradable properties and mechanical characteristics of poly lactic acid (PLA) and poly caprolactone (PCL), these polymers are recently widely utilized in medical applications including the fabrication of body-compatible implants. One of the most efficient manufacturing methods to fabricate polymer-based implants is 3D printing, due to its ability to rapidly produce parts with complex geometries. In this study, an effort has been made to study the impact of the dip-coating process on tensile and high cycle fatigue behavior of 3D printed PLA/PCL blends, using PCL/chloroform solution. The results demonstrate that after applying the PCL coating on the surface of the...

Abstract
Different parts of this research are focused on developing FO membranes and improving their performance. For this purpose, thin film composite (TFC) membranes with fixed composition of polyethersulfone/polyamide (PES/PA) have been used to investigate the effect of nanocomposites containing transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) on their performance. The support layer in all cases is PES, which is prepared through the phase inversion process and does not contain any nanofillers. The modification process takes place in the polyamide layer by dispersing the desired nanoparticles in the aqueous monomer solution necessary to form this active layer. Identification and characterization of...

, Ph.D. Dissertation Sharif University of Technology ; Atarodi, Mojtaba (Supervisor)
Abstract
This thesis deals with the front-End of an Integrated RFID Reader operated in 860MHz to 960MHz, which integrates a RF transceiver including PA, LNA and Mixer. In the receiver part, a power amplifier was fabricated and measured and in the transmitter part, LNA and Mixer were designed. There is a growing interest in utilizing CMOS technologies for RF power amplifiers (PAs). Although several advances have been made recently to enable full integration of PAs in CMOS, it is still among the most difficult challenges in achieving a truly single-chip radio system in CMOS. This is exacerbated by supply voltage reduction due to CMOS technology scaling and on-chip passive losses due to the conductive...

Abstract
Inert gold become catalytically active when dispersed in the form of nanoparticles. Isolated gold nanoparticles have demonstrated high catalytic activity for both oxidation and reduction reactions. In order to obtain high catalytic activity, gold nanoparticles are generally dispersed on support materials, among which oxides are commonly used. However, a substantial decrease in activity and selectivity of the immobilized catalysts is frequently observed due to the heterogeneous nature of these support materials in reaction media. In the course of our study on the metal-based catalysis for synthesis of organic compounds, we herein report that rod-shaped Au nanoparticles in aqua solution...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Bagherzadeh, Mojtaba (Supervisor)
Abstract
The 2-(2′-hydroxyphenyl)-oxazoline ligand (Hphox) is generated from 1:1 condensation of methyl salicylate with 2-aminoethanol. Novel [Ru(Hphox)2(H2O)2] (Hphox = 2-(2′-hydroxyphenyl)-oxazoline ) complex has been synthesized and characterized by physic-chemical methods. Oxidation of sulfides catalyzed by the mixed-ligand ruthenium(II) complex [Ru(Hphox)2(H2O)2]using urea-hydrogen peroxide (UHP) as oxidant was investigated under mild condition within 1 h. The results showed that mixed-ligand ruthenium(II) complex was effective catalyst in oxidation of sulfides in whichsulfoxideswere the only products. Using this catalytic system in the oxidation of alkanes, ketones were obtained as the main...
