    Computation of lucky number of planar graphs is NP-hard

    Abstract
    A lucky labeling of a graph G is a function l:V(G)→N, such that for every two adjacent vertices v and u of G, σ w∼vl(w)≠ σ w∼ul(w) (x∼y means that x is joined to y). A lucky number of G, denoted by η(G), is the minimum number k such that G has a lucky labeling l:V(G)→{1,⋯,k}. We prove that for a given planar 3-colorable graph G determining whether η(G)=2 is NP-complete. Also for every k≥2, it is NP-complete to decide whether η(G)=k for a given graph G

    Molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was synthesized through the coprecipitation method on the graphene oxide anchored pencil lead as a substrate for the first time and applied as an efficient sorbent for pseudo stir bar sorptive extraction of nabumetone.     Selective fluorometric determination of sulfadiazine based on the growth of silver nanoparticles on graphene quantum dots

    Abstract
    A sensitive fluorometric assay is described for the direct determination of the antibiotic sulfadiazine. Silver nanoparticles placed on graphene quantum dots (Ag NP-GQDs) were synthesized by reduction of AgNO3 with sodium borohydride in the presence of GQDs. The growth of Ag NPs on the surface of the GQDs causes quenching of the blue fluorescence of the GQDs with an emission maximum at 470 nm by surface-enhanced energy transfer. If sulfadiazine is added, it interacts with Ag NPs and fluorescence is restored. Under optimal conditions, the fluorescence increases linearly in the sulfadiazine concentration range of 0.04–22.0 μM.     Abstract
    Neglecting actuator dynamics in control of rigid manipulators can degrade performance and stability of the system. However, consideration of actuator dynamics usually requires measurement of joint torque or armature currents. In this paper, we present an adaptive controller for motion tracking of an n-DOF manipulator without using joint torque measurement. Semi-global convergence of motion and torque tracking errors to zero is proven. We show that the use of non-minimal representation of manipulator dynamics significantly simplifies its linear parametrization. Simulation example shows that avoiding joint torque measurement reduces system sensitivity to sensor failure and noise

    Crossflow microfiltration of non-alcoholic beer is investigated numerically and it has been verified by experimental data. Due to the presence of particles with different sizes in feed suspension, a modified combination of three mechanisms of particle back-diffusion is developed to predict particle deposition and cake layer buildup during the process. The simulation results show that smaller particles (about 1μm) are the main contributor to the cake layer due to a minimum in back transport and are the main reason of the flux decline.     The practical application of microfiltration in brewing industry is hindered by severe membrane fouling and subsequent permeate flux decline. A theoretical and experimental study on the effect of operating parameters, which influence the crossflow microfiltration of beer and beer quality was performed. A mathematical model is developed to better understanding of the fouling layer characteristics. The experiments were conducted for different ranges of pressures, temperatures and shear rates.     A damage-plasticity based mixed axial-shear-flexural (PVM) link element for the inelastic analysis of frames is introduced in this paper. The multi-surfaces yield concept is utilized in the definition of the element.     This paper presents actual cases of steady reactive power oscillation of distributed generations (DGs) during parallel operation with the main grid. The cause of the problem was found to be the adverse effects of excitation system voltage regulation. It is shown, through preliminary investigation and detailed simulation studies, that how the excitation control system can be modified to overcome this problem. On-site test results verify the analysis results and effectiveness of the remedial actions.     This paper presents the effect of volume of coarse aggregate on fracture characteristics of self- compacting concrete (SCC). Based on an experimental programme, a series of three point bending tests were carried out on 58 notched beams. SCC was prepared with coarse aggregate in varying percentages of 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% (as the percentage of the total aggregate volume).
