Investigation of phase Solubility Enhancement of Paclitaxel by Inclusion Complex of drug in B-CD-g-PG

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Jandaghi, Morteza (Author) ; Yaghmaei, Soheyla (Supervisor) ; Vossoughi, Manoochehr (Supervisor) ; Kazemi Daliri, Akhtarolmoluk (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Paclitaxel is using as a drug against breast and ovary cancers. Although paclitaxel has high biologic activity, it has very poor solubility in water the same as some other drugs. Since drugs should be solved in water to be absorbed by the body, for absorb enhancement, we should use carriers which includes both polar and non polar sites.
Beta-Cyclodextrin which has this feature is capable for producing inclusion complex in its hydrophobic pores with non polar materials. In this project, by adding polymeric polyglycerol branches on Beta-Cyclodextrin, a polymeric nanostructure has been developed to enhance water solubility in comparison with pure Beta-Cyclodextrin.

The extraction efficiency of this sorbent was examined by isolation of rhodamine B (RhB), a mutagenic and carcinogenic dye from aquatic media in dispersion mode. The efficiency of the synthesized Fe3O4/copolymer composite was examined and compared with Fe3O4/polyaniline (PANI) and Fe3O4/polynaphthylamine (PNA) by quantification of RhB using spectrofluorimetry. Among them, Fe3O4/poly (ANI-NA) nanocomposite showed a prominent efficiency. The scaning electron microscopy (SEM) image of the synthesized...

A Heuristic Framework with Mathematical Modeling for Inherently Safe Design of Chemical Process with Sustainability Assessment of Case Study

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology Daliri, Reza (Author) ; Rashtchian, Davoud (Supervisor)
    Abstract
Inherently safer design is the new approach to maximize the overall safety of a process plant. This approach suggests some risk reduction strategies to be implemented in the early stages of design. There are different well-established strategies for making a process plant inherently safer. The benefits of applying these strategies on reducing the overall risk inside a plant are obvious. However, some of these changes are rejected many times because they appear to be too costly. But if the effects of applying inherently safer design strategies are investigated not only on the processing costs of a plant but also on the potential accident costs, the decision would in fact be different. In this...

    Abstract
A magnetic polyurethane (PU) nanocomposite was synthesized by an electrospinning technique and applied for isolation and preconcentration of fluoxetine from aquatic and biological samples. The nanocomposite was electrospun using a PU polymer solution containing the dispersed magnetic nanoparticles. The magnetic properties of iron nanoparticles, along with the use of an electrospinning technique, led to the formation of a suitable sorbent toward isolation of fluoxetine. The magnetic PU nanofibers could be subsequently removed from the sample solution by applying a permanent magnet. The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) image of the magnetic PU nanofibers confirms that their diameters are in...

    Abstract
Measuring the coupling of single neuron's spiking activities to the local field potentials (LFPs) is a method to investigate neuronal synchronization. The most important synchronization measures are phase locking value (PLV), spike field coherence (SFC), pairwise phase consistency (PPC), and spike-triggered correlation matrix synchronization (SCMS). Synchronization is generally quantified using the PLV and SFC. PLV and SFC methods are either biased on the spike rates or the number of trials. To resolve these problems the PPC measure has been introduced. However, there are some shortcomings associated with the PPC measure which is unbiased only for very high spike rates. However evaluating...

    Abstract
The present study examines the performance of three powerful methods including the original differential evolution (DE), the improved differential evolution (IDE), and the winner of the CEC-2014 competition, LSHADE, in addition to the covariance matrix adaptation evolution strategy (CMAES) for size optimization of truss structures under natural frequency constraints. Despite the abundant researches on novel meta-heuristic algorithms in the literature, the application of CMAES, one of the most powerful and reliable optimization algorithms, on the optimal solution of the truss structures has received scant attention. For consistent comparison between these algorithms, four stopping criteria...

    Abstract
The boundary-layer control authority of a DBD plasma actuator using surface mounted hot-film sensors is evaluated. Wind tunnel experiments on a wind-turbine blade section were established at a Reynolds number of 0.27 x 106. Aerodynamic performance of the wind-turbine blade section for both plasma-ON and plasma-OFF modes are evaluated using measurements made by both surface pressure and wake survey behind the model. Two distinct boundary-layer states are recognized. A state which occurs at the onset and in proximity of the deep stall, which is affected by the low-frequency instabilities of the separated flow. In this case, the steady actuation of plasma imparts local momentum on the nearby...

, Article Computers and Industrial Engineering, Elsevier ; Volume 50, Issue 4, August 2006, Pages 358–366 Eshghi, K. (Kourosh) ; Kazemi, Morteza ; Sharif University of Technology
    Abstract
In this paper, a new algorithm for solving the shortest loop design problem is presented. The shortest loop design problem is to find the shortest loop for an automated guided vehicle covering at least one edge of each department of a block layout. In this paper, first it is shown that this problem can be represented as a graph model. The properties of the presented model enable us to design a meta-heuristic based on ant colony system algorithm for solving the shortest loop design problem. Computational results show the efficiency of our algorithm in compare to the other techniques
