Abstract
Possessing second place among gas reserve owner countries worldwide, Iran enjoys a very particular position in energy supply field. The crude oil is about to be replaced by natural gas in fuel sector because of growing demand for natural gas along with depletion of crude oil reserves. Some other drivers to this change are the increase in the known reserves of natural gas, the need to monetize stranded gas reserves and the environmental pressure to minimize the flaring of associated gas and carbon dioxide emissions. In such conditions the optimum consumption of these national abundant resources results in obtaining considerable revenues and strong presence of Iran in world consumption...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Kermanshah, Ali (Supervisor) ; Isaaei, Mohammad Taghi (Supervisor)
Abstract
There has been a lively debate between two major strategist groups in innovation strategy literature. The first, with Ansoff being the protagonist, pose a rational approach in describing a corporate innovation strategy formulation process while the other group, with Mintzburg as the protagonist, prescribe an incremental approach. It seems that in continuous change and uncertainty, rational approach can weakly predict the reality and one can claim that in such situations incremental approach is more effective than rational approach. Based on the review of literature and consequent classification, most of the strategies that are named as innovation strategies in literature use rational...

Performance of two-stage trip generation models in estimating daily infrequent trips
, Article Amirkabir (Journal of Science and Technology) ; Volume 14, Issue 56 C , 2003 , Pages 1185-1198 ; 10150951 (ISSN) ; Asghari, G ; Sharif University of Technology
2003
Abstract
This study investigates validity of continuity assumption of error terms underlying multiple linear regression approach of trip generation models for infrequent trips. Since not many household members make daily trips for purposes like shopping or personal business, estimation of such trips with their discrete and non- negative nature and still close to zero averages, using conventional multiple linear regression, needs to be investigated. This study employs a two-stage trip generation model; the probability of making/not making trip is modeled first by binary probit, then, number of trips for those who have already made trips are estimated by the weighted least square method. The results...
Modeling automobile ownership decisions: A disaggregate approach

Abstract
In this paper, a disaggregate model is developed for household car ownership based on a data set from the city of Mashad. The approach adopted in this study is a two-level nested logit in which conditional probability of owning one car vs two or more is modeled at level 1, then marginal probability of owning a car is modeled at level 2. Seven groups of descriptive variables, each including one or more variables divided into two separate classes for each level, were employed in the model building process. Household demographics and socio-economic indicators, including head of the household characteristics like gender, age and occupation, as well as life style and life cycle stage, were among...
