Abstract
The Cu-0.5Co/WC nano-composite coating was synthesized on CP-copper substrate using Direct Current (DC) electrodeposition method. In this work, it was tried to increase the hardness of surface without considerable degradation of copper's particular physical properties such as electrical conductivity. The effect of current density on microstructural homogeneity, hardness, fracture toughness, and electrochemical behavior of coating was investigated. The copper plates with the purity of 99.99% were used as electrodes. The electrolyte consists of tungsten carbide particles (30 g/l), copper sulfate (200 g/l), sulfuric acid (50 g/l), cobalt sulfate (50 g/l), and Sodium Dodecyl Sulfate (SDS) (0.3...

, M.Sc. Thesis Sharif University of Technology ; Abachi, Parvin (Supervisor) ; Dolati, Abolghasem (Supervisor)
Abstract
In this research a copper- Tungsten carbided nanocomposite coating prepared by electrodeposition from a sulfate bath in order to increase the hardness and erosion resistance of cooper without loosing cooper's specific physical properties as like as electrical and thermal conductivity. Various parameters were evaluated for finding significant factors in electrodeposition of Cu-Co/WC composite. Current density and concentration of WC and SDS were selected as affective factors. The morphology and structure were characterized by XRD and SEM. The mechanical properties of the coatings, such as hardness, wear resistance and surface roughness were studied with Vickers hardness indentation; pin on...

Abstract
The formation of biomimetic bone-like apatite layers throughout the biopolymer-based hydrogel scaffold is an attractive approach in bone tissue engineering. Here, the starch scaffold was prepared using a combination of particulate leaching and freeze-drying techniques. The fabricated structures were then modified by citric acid to investigate the formation of bone-like apatite layer on the porous citrate-based scaffold after soaking in simulated body fluid (SBF). The Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectra and X-ray diffraction (XRD) patterns revealed that the B-type carbonated apatite has successfully deposited on the scaffold after immersing in SBF for 28 days. Indeed, high chemical...
