Abstract
The current study revealed the effectiveness of polypropylene (PP) fibers and cement to enhance the strength of black cotton soil. PP fibers and cement with different concentrations were mixed with black cotton soil. The strength of PP fiber and cement-based soil samples was measured in terms of unconfined compressive strength (UCS) and California Bearing ratio (CBR). Pr doped spinel nanoferrites having following composition Cu Pr x Fe 2-x O 4 (x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75, 1.00) were synthesized using sol-gel route. Prosademium (Pr) which is a rare earth metal was doped to tailor the properties of the Cu spinel nanoferrites. Abstract
This study describes some epidemiological and patho-physiological aspects of Trypanosoma evansi (causative agent of “surra”) infection in camels (n=255) and Nili Ravi buffaloes (n=233). Clinical ailments like fever, shivering, edema of pads and urticarial swelling were observed in infected animals. Overall prevalence of T. evansi infection in buffaloes was 9.01 and 15.12% based on blood smear examination and PCR, respectively, while in camels, the prevalence was 10.58 and 15.29% based on smear examination and PCR, respectively. Abstract
Recent studies confirm the ability of graphene oxides (GO) for the improvement of cementitious-based soil material properties. The current study aimed to explore the influence of GO and cement on the spectroscopic, thermal, structural, and strength of soil experimentally. The spectroscopic analysis studied by FTIR showed the presence of GO and cementitious contents in the soil sample by detecting the vibration modes of respective components. A wide range of techniques are currently used to improve the performance of the anaerobic digestion (AD) process, including co-digestion, inoculation, and addition of various accelerants. In the current study, ruminant intestinal waste inoculum effect on AD of cow manure was investigated. Pure tin oxide nanoparticles ware synthesized via Co-precipitation method. The as-synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), X-ray diffraction (XRD) and diffuse reflectance spectroscopy (DRS). Abstract
Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) with diameter of about 50 nm were synthesized using thermal chemical vapor deposition. We have investigated the influence of Mg doping to the MWCNTs on its hydrogen storage property. TEM micrographs showed that Mg was attached to the MWCNTs and discontinuous arrangement of the carbon walls was recognized in the MWCNTs. According to XPS and BET analyses, the surface functional groups and pore size of the Mg-MWCNTs are increased by interactions between the Mg and the MWCNT's outer walls. The effects of HCl, HNO3, H2SO4 and HF acids on the purification and the electrochemical hydrogen storage of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were studied. The MWCNTs were synthesized on Fe-Ni catalyst by thermal chemical vapor deposition method. The X-ray diffraction and thermal gravimetric analysis results indicated that the MWCNTs purified by HF acid had the highest impurities as compared with the other acids. Ca-doped Ni–Mg–Mn spinel ferrites with compositions of Ni0·5Mg0·3Mn0.2CaxFe2-xO4 (x = 0, 0.1, 0.2, 0.3, 0.4, 0.5) were prepared via sol-gel auto-ignition technique. TGA/DTA, FTIR, XRD, FESEM, and VSM were employed to evaluate the thermal, spectral, structural, morphological, and magnetic features of Ca-doped Ni–Mg–Mn spinel ferrites.
