    Abstract
We consider the K-user Multiple Input Multiple Output (MIMO) Gaussian interference channel with M antennas at each transmitter and N antennas at each receiver. It is assumed that channel coefficients are constant real numbers and are available at all transmitters and at all receivers. The main objective of this paper is to characterize the number of Degrees of Freedom (DoF) of this channel. Using the real interference alignment technique introduced in [20], we show that MN/M+NK degrees of freedom can be achieved for almost all channel realizations. Also, a new upper-bound on the DoF of this channel is provided. This upper-bound coincides with our achievable DoF for K ≥ Ku≜M+N/gcd(M;N), where...

Investigation of Mach-Zehnder and Michelson Interferometers in Optical Coherence Tomography System and Increasing Light Penetration by Mie Scattering

    Abstract
Optical coherence tomography is a rapidly evolving imaging technique that enables non-invasive cross-sectional imaging of high-sensitivity semi-transparent samples (poor scattering). The biggest limitation of optical coherence tomography is the low penetration depth (about a few millimeters) in tissue. OCT is based on low-coherence interferometry. In this study, we investigate Michelson and Mach-Zehnder interferometers in OCT set-up and explain the advantages of using Mach-Zehnder interferometers in OCT systems. Furthermore, in this thesis, we have shown that by using Mie scattering, we can have forward scattering, hence the penetration increases. We have suggested this method as a solution...

Intravenous laser wavelength irradiation effect on interleukins: Il-1α, il-1β, IL6 in diabetic rats

    Abstract
Background and aims: The main purpose of this investigation in Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) on diabetic rats is laser wavelength effect on interleukins: IL-1α, IL-1β, IL6. Materials (Subjects) and Methods: At first, diabetes was induced in Wistar rats by streptozotocin (STZ) injection. Then, by intravenous laser therapy, the rats were irradiated by four continuous wave lasers: IR (λ = 808 nm), Red (λ = 638 nm), Green (λ = 532 nm) and Blue (λ = 450 nm) to compare the related laser wavelength effect on different interleukins. The inflammatory parameters were measured 2,6 and 24 hours after laser therapy from blood samples and plotted for different laser wavelengths. Results: The results show...

Real interference alignment: Exploiting the potential of single antenna systems

    Abstract
In this paper, we develop the machinery of real interference alignment. This machinery is extremely powerful in achieving the sum degrees of freedom (DoF) of single antenna systems. The scheme of real interference alignment is based on designing single-layer and multilayer constellations used for modulating information messages at the transmitters. We show that constellations can be aligned in a similar fashion as that of vectors in multiple antenna systems and space can be broken up into fractional dimensions. The performance analysis of the signaling scheme makes use of a recent result in the field of Diophantine approximation, which states that the convergence part of the...
